This looks like a bad Williams too.  Opinions?

Forgery

We do not appreciate the slander suggesting we sell fake or forged signatures. We stand by our autographs 100% and this item is no exception. It has been authenticated by GAI (Global) so if it isn't real then the deception is on them.

We try to be completely open about where and how we acquire our items. We do not list items we know are fake just to make a few dollars.

The same GAI that went out of business? Kind of hard to take it up with them now isn't it?

Might want to research what is or is not slander there law dog.

The same GAI that is still in business?

By questioning the integrity of me or by company, by definition is slander.

slander n. oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another which untruth will harm the reputation of the person defamed.

Now i do not want to get into it. I am not hear to argue with anyone. We personally at Legacy Memorabilia prefer to use JSA (James Spence) or PSA/DNA to authenticate our items. Some items however are authenticated by Global simply because of quickness (like them being in town at the time). Almost 90% of our items are obtained in person at events, however we do receive some through buying private collections.

If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask. Having been in this business for many years, i have seen and dealt with a lot of things.

Take care everyone!

That link and your COA are two different companies.

Two different companies but still run by the same people. GAI pretty much just became Global Authentics. Steve Sipe is still authenticating.

If you look up the certificate # on the website i provided a link for, the autograph in question still shows up in their database.

Suggesting? These ARE well known/documented horrific forgeries that led to GAI's downfall. Here's a little tip from eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/gds/BEWARE-OF-GAI-AUTHENTICATION-OF-AUTOGRAPHS/...

If you're going to sell autographs, you should know a little bit about them. Also GAI is a banned COA on eBay.  Don't be mad at us when you found these for $25 at an estate sale and thought you found the jackpot, only to find out you were fooled into buying forgeries, and now are stuck with them as they will be repeatedly removed from eBay.

I appreciate the link, but already knew all of this. I am thankful for all of this debate, as it makes me aware of how concerned the general public is of GAI. We will be having JSA take a look at this particular item, when they come to our business. Thank you again for your comments and concerns.

Just a small correction, but GAI is not banned from Ebay, as it is actually an authentication option when listing an item. Again we will remove any item that does not pass authentication from JSA or PSA.

Thank you guys! Take Care.

Robert,

Just curious but your name shows up on my linkedin account as an email contact so I checked my email and there your name is, so we at one time or another emailed each other. I'll have to dig for the emails to see where I filed it but the only Robert, Rob or Bob that I have ever emailed in Chandler, AZ was about a year ago. The guy used the name Bob and had Craigslist flooded daily with ATAuction junk trying to flip it for big money....ie forgeries of Mantle, DiMaggio, Williams, Ali, etc all with STAT, TTA, Burcyzck, GAI(Mike Baker) and AAU COA's. He also sold a ton of reprint baseball and football cards. I e-mailed this guy back and forth playing dumb and he was trying hard to tell me how these were signed in person and the authenticators certed these items at the show. Then tried to pass others off with the same ol story of being old Scoreboard inventory....yada, yada, yada.

Not saying it was but I am curious by chance if that was you?

Rick,

That is strange but entirely possible that we have talked before. However i have never gone by the name Bob or listed anything with COA's by those mentioned COA's. The only items that may have been listed on Craigslist are the Ted Williams in questions, and the 500 Home Run Club photo which i assume is what you are referring to. We have since taken the 500 Home Run Club item down until it can be authenticated by either JSA or PSA.

Also have never sold any reprint cards, as we hardly deal in cards at all.

Wasn't sure if it was. Don't remember ever talking with you before. Could have been this photo.
Rick
