Authenticity of Rolling Stones Bridges to Babylon lithograph

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I've been looking at picking up a hand signed Rolling Stones Bridges to Babylon lithograph and found one for sale, however, it doesn't appear to be numbered. The others I've seen have a pencil number of the 125 issued in the lower left corner. The seller has checked and there's definitely no number. He thinks it could be an artists proof, extra copies signed in case numbered copies are damaged. Does this sound feasible? I've tried googling this but can't find anything.

I am very picky with sigs also.I sooooo agree with the Mick sig.I think the non numbered Mick sig is one of the best I've ever seen.it is perfectly balanced on both sides and the angle is spot on with keiths sig.the numbered Mick sig when I first got it I was blown away with it.it's soooo wide and weird.it's real though, I guess that's all that matters.I have a lot of Jagger sigs, they vary so much.

I made an offer for a " for those about to rock" litho that was on eBay last week.the sigs were great but he countered for mor than I wanted to pay lol.

You say we should google roger. So I guess you didnt goog psa dna shortcomings? 

I have seen PSA wrong way more than Roger has. But as its been pointed out he never authenticated this piece.

Ok, which one or ones do you want my opinion on?  Just to set the record straight I have not seen any of the ones before that are posted here.  I have sold a few myself though.  The problem I have with the un-numbered ones is that I have seen MANY fake ones before or ones that people got a couple signatures on but added a couple others themselves.  I have no idea where the un-numbered ones came from as these and all the plate signed ones should have been destroyed after the run was complete.  That is what a limited run means.  Also; all of the numbered ones came with a letter from the distributor stating that they were hand signed and I also believe they all came framed in the same black lam frame, please correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Hi Roger, it's not really a case of authenticating the pieces, more getting to the bottom of the unnumbered ones. When I emailed you previously about this it was regarding the item pictured in my original post as it isn't numbered. I don't know who would have a definitive answer, but I guess someone would know.

the one in the picture above looks authentic to me, what is odd is where did it come from?  Was it one that got overlooked and missed getting numbered but but was signed?  Were they signed first then numbered and this was left over and someone took it home and sold it?  I don't have that answer but from memory as I had one like this hanging on my wall for a year or so it seems like the same pens too that they used.

I've seen them with different pens, in fact, Paul who posted pics here of the 2 he owns has one numbered and one unnumbered and Mick has signed in blue on one and black on the other. I've also seen a couple on eBay without Mick's auto, just the other three. If all are authentic it seems like there's a few variations, possibly different signing sessions which might explain the different pens and absence of Mick at one of the sessions? Bit of a minefield...

makes sense and that makes sense to my belief that the other non-numbered one on this thread has a non authentic Jagger on it.

I've emailed the official Rolling Stones Archive website to see if they can shed any light on it. Might be a dead end but I'll post back with any info
