Horrible Maris Forgery by Seller Pinstripes2013

This is one of the worst Maris forgeries imaginable.  It is definitely the "Holy Grail" of forgeries.  Of course item is sold as is, no returns. That should be comforting.

The ridiculous "buy it now" price will stop anyone from actually bidding on this.

I saw that a week or so ago and immediately thought it looked like crap, and I don't even study Maris.

Maris never had a consistent autograph, and any real collector knows this. And just for fun I did a "Quick Opinion" and It came back "likely genuine"

Really?   Interesting.  I have been collecting and studying Maris signatures for 35 years.  I must have missed the exemplar that PSA used for comparison.  Did they also give you the approximate date of signing?  I expect it was sometime this century.

Any real collector would know this ball is a forgery. Because real collectors would study and compare it or seek out opinion from those who know Maris sigs.

I can show you 20 different Maris signatures and not  one will match up identical. I've been collecting autographs a long time. All of Maris' "R' in Roger are different, his "M" and Maris are usually consistent.

no two signatures ever match up identically.  but this is as far off as you can get.  if you truly believe it is authentic, then I suggest you do not get involved in selling autographs any more.

Anthony, I just looked at your other auctions.  you do have some nice, authentic items.  This Maris stands out and does not belong with the rest of your authentic items.  As forgeries go, there are many out there that are better executed than this one.  this looks like a six year old signed it.  Look at how slowly written it is. do you see any other Maris signatures that are even close to this?  show me just one, that has that R.
