Well, there's actually nothing questionable about them to me; I'm just being polite. Among the problems are the completely wrong 'S' and the fact that he simply doesn't write such a large signature.

Here are 2 completed items from the same seller that I reported when they were first listed. Nothing was done and they were sold to unwitting buyers.

Here's the nice generic signing picture used for "proof", which was appropriated from this blog about the London Super Comic Convention

Here are a couple of legit Stan Lee CGC Signature Series autographs for quick comparison.

Just purchased this signed Stan Lee 18x24 poster with PSA authentication. Paid $110 for it which may be a little high, but well worth it in my opinion.

Also any opinions on this Lee, Downey, Cheedle, And Rebecca Hall signed picture?

Regarding the multi-signed photo, I assume the seller is saying that Lee signed this somewhere other than a show signing (the Lee, that is).  Regardless, it looks like kind of a mess.

$110 really ain't bad.  Stan is charging about $50 - 60 at shows, in addition to whatever you'd pay for admission (presumably $25 - 40, depending on the show).  Plus PSA certification.  That seems like a very fair price to me.

Yeah I agree. I don't have a Lee in my collection and with his age and recent medical issues, I figured I would pick up a piece signed by him. Getting it professionally framed and hanging it in my cave!

And yeah it was signed on the streets at the premiere of iron man 3. He said he would offer a money back guarantee if it fails JSA or psa. Also the s in stan was smudged by him right after he signed which is why it's a mess. He's selling it for a decent price which is why I'm interested.

Thanks,

Kevin

I haven't been around lately but made a point to come back and post this in case ebay cares about this sort of thing anymore.

Seller goonart is making hundreds and hundreds of dollars pumping out dozens and dozens of bogus Stan Lee signed items.

Active listings - http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_odkw=&item=200949545205&pt=...

Last month he started selling laughable forgeries like these-

But he's honed his forging craft and now pumps out fake Stan Lee sigs like an assembly line. They're almost good enough now to pass at first glance to someone who hasn't studied Stan's autograph, but they are still 100% fake. Almost all done on cheap promo cards to keep the overhead down.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of the ENDLESS SUPPLY from the Human Stan Lee Autopen. Check out completed auctions for a real laugh.

The bidding on his stuff isn't exactly hot and heavy because enough people can see right through it. The end prices are nowhere near what legit items would sell for. He also falls into the common forger trap of routinely proclaiming auctions as the "Last One", but then can't resist the temptation of making money off one more dumb bidder and keeps listing more.

Yes, the more recent iterations are relatively deceptive. They are "close enough" and signed quickly so they could fool a lot of people. He also gives himself away when he shows the group shots. They show very little natural variation IMO. Cookie cutter formation is always a red flag.

Stan signs for around $75 minimum and I highly doubt he's pumping out hundreds of freebies at San Diego. How is it this seller has access to dozens he can sell for under $10 - $20 each?

Yeah, the problem with his San Diego Comic Con story is he was pumping out the same exact cards throughout July and Comic Con wasn't until July 18. Just a convenient thing to tack on to a listing to add a false sense of authenticity.

The recent ones are close enough that I really didn't even notice them while scrolling through the new listing thumbnails every day. Eventually, the sheer number of these promo cards being sold finally made me take a closer look. There is a major tell in the forgery that I don't want to mention here, plus like you said, seeing them all together really brings out the "assembly line" quality to them.

Finally, seeing the evolution of the forgeries from atrocious to passable is pretty solid evidence of what's going on here.

Thanks for looking at them all William. To be honest, the word "questionable" in the title of the thread was meant to be sarcastic, as most of the examples here are beyond hideous.

You are also right when you say that Stan is a machine. He has one of the most consistent sigs I've seen in the hobby.

Great point William. You might also get a kick out of this other topic I started a long time ago.

Wow, what a mess. The prolific Stan Lee forger goonart from above reeled in a great customer in ebayer livmemorabilia. livmemorabilia purchased a bunch of worthless garbage from goonart as seen in goonart's feedback-

Now livmemorabilia is relisting all this garbage with a huge markup. These prices would be high even if the Stan Lee signatures were real, which they're not.

I like the "More than 10 available" in the above listing. goonart couldn't churn them out fast enough for this person who thought they were going to flip them all for easy money.

The kicker is if you look at livmemorabilia's listings for Stan Lee items, he has a lot of legitimate PSA/JSA items for sale now mixed in with the same exact garbage pieces that you can also see in goonart's completed listings.

livmemorabilia appears to be a reputable seller at a glance. But looks like he got duped and a little greedy here, so now he's selling forgeries. The gift that keeps on giving.

Yup. Duped and greedy. The forgers favorite customer.
