He was the definitive Holmes.  Although I think Nigel Bruce was little too dottering as Watson.

But may I make a suggestion of a cool item to have matted with the signature?

I collect celebrity tobacco ads. And this Basil Rathbone Chesterfield ad also promoting the film "Dressed to Kill" is one of my 3 or 4 all-time favorites.  I have it framed and hanging in my office.  From time to time its available on ebay for a few bucks:

Ahh Basil Rathbone, for us older guys there will never be another sherlock holmes. The guy was just custom made for the roll.

Been way out of the loop for a while recuperating from multiple surgeries but lets start with today's pickup and I'll work backwards when I can.  In from a private signing two rookie cards from HOFer Joe Morgan.  I had a third one which I found after the signing but I am happy to have been able to get these two done as I missed a good opportunity last year. I think I am going to try to get Sonny Jackson to sign one of them.

Finally completed my "big three" collection with this piece.  A special thanks to Terrier for helping me out and to Ryan and CG for helping me learn more about its authenticity.  Got a nice deal on it, $175.
