5 DIFFERENT MICKEY MANTLE STYLE SIGNATURES AUTHENTICATED BY G.A.I.....3 AUTHENTICATED BY MIKE BAKER

All of these autographs were authenticated by G.A.I which raises the question....how the hell could one company authenticate 5 different style Mickey Mantle signatures ?!?!?!?!...Mike Baker authenticated 2 of these items which the one on top is actually authentic in my opinion....he actually authenticated that one...

 

The second Mantle I am really not quite sure about...is that a bad authentic Mantle or better then usual forgery ?...that middle Mantle really has me scratching my head...also authenticated by G.A.I. I don't like it...good or bad...its off to me

 

The third Mantle we all know about....garbage all day all the way...also authenticated by G.A.I. I do admit that I have seen some authentic Mantles popping up lately....were there coming from is beyond me since the great Mickey Mantle has been deceased since 1995...16 YEARS...

 

The fourth Mantle is really the closest I have seen in a long time...this will by far be the style that really ruins a extremely tainted hobbie already !!!! Iam guessing the guy that did the second Mantle also did the forth one also authenticated by Mike Baker !!!!!

 

The fifth one has my baffled...WTF is going on here !?!?!?!?!

 

JUST LIKE MY MAN CLINT EASTWOOD....I REFER THESE AUTOS AS THE GOOD...THE BAD...AND THE UGLY...and now THE REAL UGLY

 

Feel free to post any G.A.I Mantles good and bad...let me know what you guys think...

Here's 2 authentic Mantles with the cojoining MI...although its not common I have seen it before on authentic Mantles...the card is from upper deck and the ball is also UDA as well

I personally hate lithos...he does kind of look stupid...yeeeeeee-haaaaaaah....I can picture him sliding over the hood on the general lee...LOL...anyway in all seriousness I still would love to own that card though...

ATTENTION ALL MANTLE COLLECTORS....PLEASE BE ADVISED IF YOU BOUGHT A MICKEY MANTLE LATELY WITH A BAKER CERT. THIS MAY BE THE STRAW THAT TRULY WILL BREAK THE CAMELS BACK IN THE COLLECTOR WORLD !!!!

The scan is a bit fuzzy, but this looks like it may be a trace job to me. The Ms look very slowly drawn.

It could be a one-off trace job. We'll have to see if more emerge in quantity.

 

There are some other issues wiht it, but on first glance, it is a cut above the typical GAI / AAU / Birdsack / Morales approved junk.

I was just looking at this.. The memorabilia market is going to have to come up with a new way to get into the 21st century and use the technology afforded to us now a days to combat fraud items.  I mean maybe all autographs have to be re certified and then someway to track the sigs that are known to be real from that point forward. Everyone must register the items when they get them so that we can track them from each person each step of the way.  I dont know something must be done though and we have the means to do it.

What needs to be done, is the wannabe autograph collectors need to be more educated and quit giving these forgers money for JUNK. The only way the forgers will stop is if they aren't making any money.

I was thinking outside the box.. but this is why I joined and have read more info in the past 72 hours than ever before.. and I am trying to get educated on the matter so I wont buy junk and support the forgers.

Remember, Mike Baker was not an authenticator.  These would have been passed by Priddy, Rocchi, or possibly Rick Giddings ( a really trash mouthed fellow ).

 

Mike's name was put on the coa's for "legal" reasons. I assume that means because he was a co-owner of the company.

 

To me, it deepens the mystery of the last days of GAI.  Lots of crazy stuff went on there before Sipe came in.
