Hiya, I've come across this auto, reasonably priced but a bidding war has begun. The seller has next to no info on the signature in terms of where it was obtained (im hoping it wasn't in his living room!)

Any ideas?? Cheers!

Can you share the rest of the image of the postal cover?

Hi sorry I can't seem to get the link to ebay working, heres a shot of the full card

The signature looks very close/tight to me. Maybe he just didn't have enough space?

The tall narrow style is consistent with a 1969/70 signature. That is why I wanted to see the whole cover...  so I could see the date. ;-)

In my opinion this appears to be authentic. I'd like to see it in hand to be definitive, but most likely okay

Thanks guys, do you think I should go for it?

Hard to answer without knowing how much you are offering.

Looking at it objectively, it is a postal cover with no cachet artwork and a foreign stamp not related to the space program. There is a typewritten notation that was probably added later. It has a mailing address. These are all factors that do not add to desirability.

While the signature is nice and appears strong, essentially this is equivalent to a signed card.

In my opinion, fair market value would be $700 give or take.

thanks for your opinion, I wasn't planning on going over $600, but sure i'll see! ... on a separate note, does anyone know any good dealers who trade in early Apollo and Gemini autographs? I've been using lunar legacies, and chancing my arm with ebay, but id like to find someone reliable with a good stock

It's my policy not to formally endorse any dealer, however I can point you to three dealers who, in my opinion, are reputable. This does not mean I will always agree with every item they offer, but overall they have a good track record.

I review space items for RR Auction, so every space item they offer has been reviewed by me. RR has a monthly auction and twice a year focused space auctions. So that is 14 auctions a year with deep space content.

Good luck - Steve Zarelli

Thank you very much, I didn't realise I was talking to THE steve zarelli! Hope to talk to you again, i'll check out the auctions, cheers.
