Is "American Authentication Company" reliable? U2 autographs photos authenticated by it....

Hi everyone,

This is my first time here. Good to join

I'm interested in purchasing a U2 signed photo and I keep seeing sellers (mostly at iOffer) providing a COA of a company by the name of "American Authentication" (www.americanauthentication.com). I've never heard of this company and when trying to Google them, other than their website I cannot find any other information on them.

Does anyone have info on them?

Much appreciated

Dan

This is not genuine either.

Also poorly done fakes.  No wonder they slander third party authenticators!  (Not that PSA/DNA is especially great in authenticating U2, but they wouldn't pass anything that bad on their worst day).

Overall that seller, http://www.hardrockstageproductions.com, looks to be about as dirty as they come.  It's hard to find a flat signed by the band for $850, but he has a guitar!  These U2 forgeries look like they were done by a kid, and not an especially bright one.  The Unforgettable Fire album looks just silly.

It makes more sense why they'd be blasting PSA - NONE of their stuff has any chance at passing!

Hi everybody,

what do you make out of this signed photo? Although it's hard to examine Larry's and Adam's signatures, Bono's and he Edge's look somewhat real ones to me. Am I correct (based on the experience I've gained within this discussion.....)

Thank you

Dan

Nah, I actually don't even need to to see more of Adam or Larry in this one.  Another poor forgery.

Thank you Rich,

Can you elaborate on this one? When comparing it to other examples on EAST LINK, they are look rather similar

The Bono is pretty terrible - the B isn't really close, though the forger thinks he has the general idea of the way the penstrokes look.  When he gets to the N, he just has no clue what's going on (you can tell that he's not too sure how to finish the signature).  Looks like he tried to mimic a rushed example of Edge, but it appears to be too slowly drawn for what Edge would actually sign in a rush.  Basically, again, the forger had no real idea where to go after the first letter.  Even though you can barely see Larry, it's too big and loose and clearly off.  Adam's actual penstrokes would be quick, and the letters tall and thin.  Even seeing a small portion of it is enough to tell it's fake.  I think the forger thought he had Bono and Edge down (which he really didn't) but was pretty uncomfortable with Adam and Larry, hence he partially hid them in the dark areas.

Thank you, I appreciate it

Ha, I think I had to fix about a half dozen typos there.

You'll see some people who think that is they can start an autograph convincingly, any mess that follows is explainable as a "rushed" example.  In most cases, it's not quite that easy.

Hi. I don't know what your budget is like but there is an absolutely stunning U2 one up at r & r auctions which has reached a  also stunningly high price without commission & its only  Monday!!!! The sigs are hugh ;-  I have been watching it but its way too high for me . regards

Thank you

Hi everybody,

What do you make out of this one?

Any chance it's real?

Thanks
