Ok, so a friend of mine just brought over two jerseys he found at his church auction and wanted me to check them out. They look good to me but I thought I would post them here to see what you all might think. I have Chipper autos I know are real and they look very similar..I imagine signing a jersey is a little different (I have a David Phelps auto signed on a jersey and you can tell he had a harder time with it than on a card or photo is what I'm getting at)
I will link the pics, all help appreciated. They still have the price tag on the frames which are pretty dang nice looking but I know sometimes people spend money on framing stuff up to get your eye of the actual signature. Hopefully he didn't get ripped off and if he did I guess the church knows who donated them lol

here is a closer look at the Chipper sig
The Cal display has $100.00 written on the tag. If that is all he paid, it doesn't matter if the signature is real. The framing is worth that much.
lol, that's what I told him and the Jersey is "authentic" and those cost a lot too.
anyone? The Chipper sig looks wrong to me but the Cal looks good but I'd like some other opinions please.
up^ for any comments. thanks
Frankie,of all my Cal autographs, yours looks just like all of mine. That one looks authentic. The chipper one, can't really tell. Mine looks a little different.
thanks for the reply. I wish the Cal jersey was mine. I noticed just last night when messing with the case the jersey is an authentic and has the Cal farewell tour patch on one sleeve and the bird on the other. It's a nice jersey. The Chipper sig looks different than the one I own and it just looks like a weird place to have him sign it. Why not the number? doesn't make sense but I didn't get these, a friend bought them and is storing them here for the time being. The framing is pretty cool too.
To me, the Chipper looks good. Living in the ATL, I have seen bunches and bunches of Chipper auto'd stuff. Why not the number....I am guessing maybe the person who got it signed was not a "pro" at autograph collecting, and when they saw Chipper, just slapped it up in front of his face and said, "Hey, will you sign my jersey?" Jerseys are harder to sign because the fabric drags with the pen, bleeds the ink at times, and so on. I personally think he's got a nice piece.
Sorry to get in late on this one. Jeffery Kite makes excellent points about the Chipper, some I was specifically going to make as well. I think it's authentic too.
I've had several jerseys signed in-person in my day and some players said "where do you want it signed". When I got my first jersey signed ever of Tug McGraw (Ya' Gotta Believe!) I had no idea, so as I was wearing the jersey (which everyone at the charity event thought was VERY COOL, especially Tug)- I told him to sign to top left rear shoulder. Luckily it came out very nice.
It was at a Celebrity Tennis Tournament at Indian River Plantation Resort in Stuart, FL. I got the jersey from Bud Harrelson after doing him a favor taking a picture of him in his St. Patrick's Day Spring Training green uniform as he gave his pre-game team line-up to the Royals manager (I lived is PSL, FL at the time- 1990-1994) & I made two 8X10's that I gave him for free. He LOVED them and told me to take any jersey from a closet in his office from past "Mets Dream Week" events. I immediately saw #45 and took it thanking Bud over & over. I LOVE THIS HOBBY!
