Ladies and Gentleman,
Premiere Props held their auction yesterday and this was one of its items:
http://www.icollector.com/item.aspx?i=1917742
Provenance: A wondrous original drawing done by Michael Jackson in ink of his most favorite literary character: Peter Pan. It shows Peter in flight over an ocean, soaring into the sky, with Capt. Hook's ship way in the background. Jackson has handwritten the famous lyrics from his hit song "Bad". He wrote: "Well they say the sky is the limit and to me that's really true" (signed) Michael Jackson. The drawing comes from the personal collection of one of his main crew members, Robert Karasek. It was during one of Jackson's flights from Europe back to the USA from the massive epic HIStory World Tour in the mid 1990s. Jackson was known to make drawings on these long flights to deflect his attention, since he basically hated to fly. Of course the line "the sky is the limit" was from the book, "Peter Pan".
What are your thoughts? If the consensus says it is not real, then how do auction houses get away with these lame provenances?

I don't know about the text and signature, but surely he didn't actually do the drawing? It looks like he's simply written on a page from a colouring book that featured Peter Pan and a ship and he's drawn some lines around the Peter Pan figure. Certainly not 'hand drawn' by MJ...or if he did actually draw it, at the very least he's traced the image. It's far to neat. Hard to see from the size of the picture available on the website though.
That doesn't look like MJ handwriting or sigatures I've seen before. There were a lot of autographs in that sale that concerned me.
