I am having a tough time trying to figure out which Autograph companies are trustworthy. I think Autograph World is fine. RR Auctions seems ok but kind of pricey. I have my doubts about AACS...I've seen a lot of questionable things there. Can anyone give me there opinion about any of these dealers? I'm mainly interested in Music Autographs.

I don't know Hendrix that well, but I compared it against some on Epperson's site and this isn't setting off warning flags for me. What are your concerns, Greg?

I have a lot of confidence in how careful Markus is, though, so I assume he did his due diligence.

Hi everyone,

I own an online autograph company in the UK, i ship worldwide.  I love collecting as a hobbie, but decided to turn it into a business.

You can totally trust me, and I have a record where I have purchased every single item.

Please have a look at my company, feel free to ask any questions.

p.s the website it still to undergo some work.

Bob Jones @autographworld.com

Tom Beetz"@ Collecting Hollywood.com

Robert Saunders@autographs.co.uk

ED Bedrick@edbedricksautographs.com

AACS Registered Dealer RD208 - Expelled 02/11 for numerous violations of the UACC Policies and Code of Ethics.

If that is true that is good news. How did you learn about it? Where was it announced? Can you post the relevant article here for all to see?

AACS Registered Dealer RD208 - Expelled 02/11 for numerous violations of the UACC Policies and Code of Ethics.

Hi, Steve;

Thanks for the link. This is encouraging. I got a bit of a kick out of the listing of one of the expelled dealer's address, being in Leavenworth, but the Leavenworth in Washington, not Kansas. Maybe his next address...?

Thanks,

Jay

Hi Richard,

I'm keen to know what makes you confident about dealing with those companys?

I own an autograph company, however have to yet join AFTAL/UACC etc.. I'm wondering if this effects sales volumes? I personally cant justify paying £50 a year or so to join AFTAL.

A number of the companys you have listed, I wouldnt buy from, mainly due to the poor design of their website and some prices of the items appear too low.

I'm interested to know your thoughts, so I could perhaps make changes to my site, if required.

Thanks for your time.

It's a mixture of reputation and personal experience - over the years I've been burned with fakes enough times where the list of dealers I feel comfortable with has shrunk considerably.  The names I listed above I have the utmost confidence in.

Regarding poor web design, I guess I could see that as a negative.  Personally, I don't have much of a problem with a poor interface as long as I know the dealer is legit.

As far as low prices, I agree.  I assume you're referring mainly to Autograph World (Bob Jones/JD Bardwell).  This is one of the few places where I've found an exeption to rule "If the price is too good to be true, it's probably fake."  I think you'd be hard pressed to find many collectors or dealers that have any problem with AW's authenticity, though some would probably be happier of the source (date, location signed, etc) were documented to some end on their COA's.

Being in the US, I don't know much about AFTAL.  I used to regard UACC Registered Dealers as rock solid safe bets, but I no longer feel that way.  Some of the delaers are excellent, some not so much.  Your reputation is your own to develop.  For example, I don't think Jason from Hollywood Autographs is an AFTAL/UACC member, but it's sort of irrelevant.  He sells ONLY autographs that he gets himself.

Your website looks good so me, but then again, I'm not too picky!

hi----------------------- I have been collecting for over 15 years and I can tell you 100% certain that John Brennan( vip autographs) is in my opinion the best for in person signed music and actor autographs-----very close friend of mine and when I go visit him I watch him run around for countless hours tracking down celebrities and getting signatures ----------In my opinion John is the best----------------------find his site online --------------frank
