It's not your fault Rob, chin up. Let's not allow these hucksters to get the better off us. Paul is also a new collector by the looks of it so it's a good thing the community can help him out.
Rob,

Sorry to have caused an alarm here, but when I saw an identical example, the image of the other example looked so natural that I wanted to let Paul know right away since I was one of the people who originally told him I thought that the Lennon he bought was very nice. You can't tell for sure on autographs without seeing them in person, and I didn't see all the later posts on the other piece.

It's getting so hard to tell what's real and what's a reproduction, that when things like this go on, it's best to stop and get them figured out.
Would like to thank everyone on this site for their kind words and their help concerning this matter...

Steve,
Honestly I'm so grateful for this site, the greatest thing when a situation comes up like is that we all help to get to the bottom of it and that's the main thing.

All the best,
Rob
Thanks, Paul. Same to you.
Because Paul said he paid for it by bank transfer rather than PayPal, that raised the urgency for me.
Steve,

That was Paul's request to pay by bank transfer not ours so we could agree at a cheaper price for the item. I prefer PayPal for seller protection purposes..

All the best,
Rob

Rob, this has not tainted your reputation in any way.  In fact, the way you have handled it has made it even stronger.  It sucks that your transaction had to be questioned, but when you see two identical signatures, questions have to be asked.

Just out of curiosity - how are people making copies of these?  Just printing the image out and matting it?  Or is there another transfer process

This is a really interesting discussion.

Hi all, here is the link to the ebay seller who was trying to sell a copy of the John Lennon autograph, as you can see they have received feedback questioning the authenticity of items. says it all really.

OMG! someone bought all 4 signed for £90!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BEATLES-SIGNED-/141638901767?nma=true&...

And also a george harrison for less than £200?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BEATLES-SIGNED-/141638901767?nma=true&...

Can someone take a look at the the above listings please just to confirm that they are not authentic please?

The all 4 with the stains...the McCartney looks to have been signed by George...as far as the prices go....

...remember...if it looks too good to be true...it isn't...

90 pounds???...that's appox. $136 US dollars...what a country...somethings not right!
