Roger Epperson not advertising on this site any longer?

I was going to ask him about checking out an item for me but now I do not see his Signed Sealed /Delivered ad any longer. Anyone know what is up with that?

I don't know Michael Johnson or anything about him but I do know that if I drop $10,000 on an autographed album I would want it to impress PSA, JSA, the NSA, my dog sitter, my neighbor down the street, and everyone else who looks at it.  I would not want to spend top dollar and then fight for it to be authentic. That's just my opinion, and I do not have access to the PSA guys to reverse decisions in the same way you do.

Mike, you have the exact same level of access as I do, assuming you have an email account.

Except, as far as Epperson could tell, it was buyer's remorse and Johnson wouldn't even send the invoice for the sale. The buyer wasn't returning it based on Epperson's return policy. Instead Epperson would have been buying it back with a negative stigma of a TPA. There were many many issues going on.

The discussion is located Here.

The person didn't even supply Epperson with the rejection letter, which was the first flag.

Anyway, from a business standpoint, Epperson was in the right. Remember it was a $10,000 item...not something to automatically refund lightly. Why was the person really returning it?

I don't agree with how Epperson responded on the business front, but again, we don't see the whole picture. By responded, I mean the language used. He made one simple statement, in line with his policy, that if PSA's only legitimate authenticator (of Zeppelin) would actually take a look and show why it wasn't authentic, he'd refund.

The buyer never did find an agreed upon authenticator...Instead they submitted it to anonymous entity that didn't have all the information, such as it being signed at different times, with two actually being signed in front of Epperson. They sent a form rejection letter.

People keep saying that he could have taken it back and put it up for auction. The issue was too public. PSA made a mistake (most likely) and that negative rejection will be attached to the piece as long as the internet goes on. It wouldn't have been an issue if the BUYER had followed the policy. If he didn't like the policy, he could have not bought there.

Or, he could have asked for advice before or after submitting it, such as Epperson indicating when each signature was gotten, which would have helped PSA authenticate it. Being signed at wildly different times makes it appear less genuine at first glance. After the fact, Epperson even stated that if the buyer sent it to the lead authenticator himself, and he responded with why it was not authentic, he would have refunded. Instead, a lawsuit ensued that indicated since the rejection letter was signed by said lead authenticator, Epperson was in the wrong...Almost all PSA are "signed" by Steve, not because he actually authenticated it himself but because he is part of the team.

Long post...sorry. Regardless of what he "should" have done, he followed his policy, which the buyer was aware of before purchasing. Epperson didn't HAVE to refund. Almost everyone who actually deal with Music Autographs agrees that PSA quite often gets music authentication wrong and don't even use the specialists listed on their site (such as for Elvis) for high priced items (at least not often).

Personally Dane I think your opinions are porous at best and you should get a real job instead of making "good margins!" Either get it yourself and knowits real or be a flipper cause your intelligence level is that of 9th grader! Just my opinion but your points on so many subjects are ludicrous....

Sports n Stuff,

It is not OK to demean other members. Next time you'll be suspended.

It's our loss. He took time out of his busy day to come here. Any comment he made someone attacked him. I use his quick opinion all the time and gladly pay for it. Now you will too Keith Smith.

You're right, Barry. But I don't think Keith Smith uses him.

Well said Barry! I agree 110%!!

Roger never forgot to pay his bill.

i know that this Zeppelin set after all was approved by Steve Grad too

Can you provide proof of this? that would be super interesting.
