Most Forged Signature or Autograph You Can Name
I would have to guess it would be one that commands the most money and therefore is worth attempting. It would have to be either somewhat rare or simply highly sought after. Remembering that some famous people do not always sign much, i.e. Steve Jobs or some died young. A few that come to mind under the category of "valuable" but not necessarily rare, might be:
++ Babe Ruth, all 4 Beatles at one time, John Wayne, Elvis Presley, JFK and Marilyn Monroe.
I've seen terrible examples of these signers yet they always tend to sell for big bucks. I'll let others continue this thread so now it's YOUR turn.

Madonna, Bob Dylan, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jackson, Obama, Elvis Presley just to name a few. In general nearly all autographs which would be worth more than 100$ in authentic form. I estimate more than 50% of those offered on EBAY or other not knowledge autograph marketplaces which are sold above this limit.

Check "Historyforsale" and see that they sell autographs for at least 10 times the going rate.
Elvis Presley starts at $7999 and that's the cheapest one. Yikes!

Yeah, not sure what "Koolaid" those guys are drinking??? How about a Stan Laural for $12000. Or a Bert Lahr for $5000. You can even catch them selling secretarials (more then a few Sinatra's I've seen) for $10,000.

I tried to get Dylan's auto this summer at a laid back location. I tried everything to get it IMPOSSIBLE. There can't be many real ones.

I agree with you. We hadn't be able to obtain his autograph for more then 10 years in Europe but he sign very rarely like you could see at http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatc.... Neil Armstrong does never sign anymore and everything which is in high demand and rare is forged in most cases.

I wrote to a PO box in NYC once and after two years I got a pre-printed B&W photo back. It's obvious that'it's a pre-print but was surprised to even get that!

In talking to Brian May of Queen on two brief but seperate occasions, he said the band, and especially Freddie Mercury, really did not sign that many autographs during their career. I did not get into "how many" was "not many", but in reading his body language there would not seem to be at all very many real ones out there.
One further note: Brian did say that instead of being asked for autographs the band was always asked to pose for photographs/with fans, especially in Japan.

For NASCAR it is by far Dale Earnhardt Jr. Thankfully, Dale Jr. has a very specific way that he holds his hand when he signs. There are always small tell-tell signs that appear in even his most rushed signatures. When he slows down long enough to sign a full signature, he has tendancies ( such as letter height ) that are always present.

Mr. Jim Morrison, lots of albums with the rest of the Doors members makes it easier to forge the great Morrison and increase the value alot. A fake Jim would suck.....My waiting for the sun Album sigs are all from the same pen which is a good sign, and can help tell the age of the item. Especially if the person is deceased.
