As far as I'm concerned, characterizing all of the authentic traits contained within the the book signatures as "small bumps" is completely outrageous.

The analysis of the autographs alone is enough to persuade me that the book signatures are not those of JLL.

It's not surprising that there could be some similarities to genuine signatures.  Someone trying to do a consistent version of JLL's signature would naturally try to copy some characteristics.

However, there are two other points that absolutely seal the deal so that I have no doubt at all that the book signatures are not genuine.

First, no one in a position to know what actually transpired has behaved in a manner consistent with having nothing to hide. No one.  Not the publisher, not the manager, not the right hand man, not the star, not the retailer (although, to be fair, Barnes & Noble may be in the dark).

In fact, it's been quite the contrary.  According to the news reports, all have behaved in a suspicious manner.

Second, it's clear that there's some chicanery going on in the JLL camp. Below are 4 examples of items received through the mail for payment AFTER THE NYC  BOOK EVENT.  The signatures are dramatically different from those in the book.  Most also seem dramatically different from each other.  (One is even signed on a dust jacket for the book, another over a photo of Elvis. ELVIS!)!!!???!!

Are any genuine?  I don't know.  But they are so different from those in the book that it's clear something is going on.  Some people have not received what they paid for.

If  JLL's camp behaves this way with signatures they sell through the mail it seems they'd have no qualms about "ghost signing" the books.

Nothing I have seen has changed my mind what so ever.  Especially the "so-called" evidence at the "other site".

Thanks for your hard work ballroom.  I do know it takes a lot of time to get the examples and then put them together.

I respect that you think they are real.  That is one thing we have different than the "other site".  RESPECT.

Mark

Ballroom,

Great job putting all those book examples together, but nothing there that changes my mind either. Yes, I beleive the books were signed by the same hand, however I don't believe that had was Jerry Lee Lewis's. Across all of those books, the most obvious trait of an authentic example is the fact that JLL dots his I at the very end of Lewis, not the middle as was done in every single one of these book examples. I also believe that JSA missed the boat on the photo you posted. Again, notice where the I is dotted in Lewis. I respect your opinion, I just don't agree with you on this matter.

Will someone please explain to me why the bottom example is authentic, but not the top, JSA authenticated example?

I am curious, does JSA have one exampler file that they share amongst each other? Roger, are you privy to the same files who ever authenticated the JSA photo or does each authenticator bring there own examples to the table when they authenticate signatures?

The bottom example is one of three TTM signatures that Roger stated were "just like the known in person sigs." The shape of his "J" varies substantially, as it does in the book signatures, but there are clear consistencies here. Compare the respective last names. Both signatures contain two different styles of "E" in "Lee", which are reversed. This also appears within the book signatures and is consistent with his signing habits.

I believe JLL signed both of the above examples. I can see and understand the concerns with the books but these are slam dunks from everything I have seen.

I understand, but we aren't dealing with concerns here. A great deal of confidence has been expressed that JLL didn't sign the books. The three "Great Balls of Fire" signed photos would certainly cause me to have doubts, and now the JSA authenticated one that you consider to be a "slam dunk" is being discredited.

I can't help but ask why Jerry Lee Lewis wasn't shown the same consideration that is being afforded to Mr. Duncan. We sure could have used some of the sentiments expressed in that discussion early on during the Jerry Lee Lewis discussions. How do you turn back now?

Personally I try to be polite. If that first example is authentic,it looks very much like the book signatures with what I call that "egg shaped" top part of the J that many of these books have and so on. Im thinking of a song by Cornelius brothers and sister Rose.

Here's another signed photo with the same "Great Balls of Fire" inscription. Compare the characteristics of this signature to those from the various book signatures that I posted. Is it not the same signer?
