First time to this site. Any input is appreciated. Given story is guitar was from mid 90s. Album from early 70s. I don't have a trained eye. They are surely signed, but not sure who actually signed them. Thanks folks.

I'm sorry - I was adding some info to my reply - I did not mean to edit after additional replies - they came in quickly.

Eric

How much are you in the hole?
There was not a comma in the price. So I was glad about that but it still stinks. Two bit hustlers make me sick. I was handed a story about his mother getting the album. Gave it to him to avoid her ex husband getting it in a divorce. Said his father just passed. I even verified that with obituary records. I thought I did good on this one
No worries buddy.
You have been hustled!
Some people are such scum bags. Before I make any other purchases I'm coming here. 3 days too late. But better late than never I suppose.

Eric's last name is Longo...so he probably knows several Vitos. If you don't mind posting all the details, we may be able to help. Start with these:

  1. Where did you buy it (site (if there was one), city, parking lot you met in, etc.
  2. Do you in the same state, police jurisdiction, etc.?
  3. Can you describe the person, their car, etc.?
  4. What was the story you were given?
  5. What did you pay?
  6. Any other details you can remember.

You've got a chance of getting our money back or at least filing meaningful charges against the person.

Put it all out here. You are far from the first person who's been victimized. Help make it harder for the next one.

Thanks

Hi Steve,

I was thinking the same thing (apart from the Vito bit ;) )...48 hours, 72 hours? State? Perhaps something can be done.

Eric

I met the fella in a parking lot in Pittsburgh. His wife was inside the hospital for weeks getting ready for a scheduled delivery and he was selling to help pay for new baby stuff. I know his name. I have his phone number. We are from the same state and different counties.

I was told that the album was signed for his mother and personally gotten by his mother. That she gave it to him so his father would t get it in a divorce.

He had some junky suv, poor dental features with what looked like half a pound of baby swiss growing on his lower incisors and smelled like cheap cigarettes.

That's all I got

And im open to meeting Vitos.
Ask him if he has any more items to sell, so you can break the guitar over his head.
Paul, you're my kinda fella. I I actually have a queen guitar I got from him as well which, I'm afraid, is surely fake.

Ha, Paul! :) Cover him in paint pen too for good measure.

I would act very carefully with some legal knowledge at this point, if anything can be done I'd do it deliberately/carefully.

Eric.
