I bought this for an undisclosed amount. Was wondering everyone's opinion. Every indication is that it's real on my end. I found this locked in a display in a small town antique shop.

The card is a 1933 Goudey. Unfortunately, there are a huge number of reprints in circulation for that card. If authentic, the card itself (even in that condition) might be worth a few hundred dollars.

That said, I would say the odds are overwhelming that the card itself is not authentic. It looks as if somebody intentionally beat the card up to make it appear aged. Only a close examination by somebody who is very familiar with the 33 Goudey set would let you know for sure.

I'm not an expert on his autograph. I'll let others chime in on that. But these kinds of "finds" are usually too good to be true.

Here is one of the many Goudey Ruth reprints that are all over ebay.

Thanks!

I agree the card is likely a reprint and the autograph is not authentic IMO.

Card has been artificially aged. Easily identifiable as a fake. Autograph is also not authentic
