A reutable seller is offering a Chick Hearn autographed baseball with an old GAI sticker. We all know that recent GAI, GA, whatever they call themselves these days, are slapping holograms on garbage. But there was a time when they seemed to be on the up and up.

Any options on the authenticity of this one? Is it real? Or is the mustard off the hotdog?

Here is an authentic Chick Hearn autograph for your comparison.

That one looks great. However, Chick had issues in his last few years. I know his autograph deteriorated along with his health. Which makes it difficult to examine his later autographs. The same issue exists with Stan Musial. The last few years of his life his autograph became very rigid and lost allot of its fluidity.

Id think if somebody was going to forge an autograph they would attempt to replicate a good example, like the one you posted.

Is there a matching LOA? Initially, Mike Guiterrez was the lead authenticator with Global. If it has a letter signed by him, it is most likely authentic.

The ball is an eBay BIN, but I know the seller. I will ask about the LOA.

Thanks
