The last to items that ive purchased of ebay.com from the usa, the sellers have no idea why there sending the parcel to Kentucky instead of Australia where Live.
One seller said to me the item has been delivered and what is this an army base because ive sent six items to this address. Its called a Global shipping program.

Ebay is a headache at times.

Ebay controls all costs using the Global shipping program. The sellers have no idea what ebay does after they ship the item to their shipping center. Ebay promotes that with the perk that ebay guarantees the delivery of the item and the seller has no risk of the package being lost or damaged.

Thanks Joe, i deleted part of my discussion, i just wanted to check who was charging me for postage. Now your comment makes sense if anyone reads it.br />

Do you know if the item is re-packed at the GSC?

I assume it is. Seller cannot invoice buyers if using Ebay's Global shipping program although, I believe, the seller can add a shipping and handling fee.

New edit. I meant to say the seller can add a handling fee not shipping. Ebay actually handles the transaction and invoicing.

Thanks again. I dont like the idea of an item being packed again if the person has sone it right the first time.
Some of these items go on the longest journey in the usa, esp if your in California it goes to Kentucky and back again to Australia.

I'm not sure how they handle the processing nor what they are charging the buyers for shipping. The seller doesn't know a thing except they are protected against loss or damage. I also assume the buyer is protected as well.

I have heard is expensive though according to some buyers.

It really is expensive to ship down under, 45 us dollars for an autograph cut. It weighs as much as a feather and from experience it will be packaed in an oversize box.

That's crazy! Of course, I also thing some countries charge import taxes based on the value of the item. Not sure of all the ins and outs of this. I use Global shipping on Ebay only because it guarantees my money regardless of what happens. Usually, when I ship overseas outside Ebay I try to ship at the lowest cost but I am taking a risk if the package gets lost, etc. I requires that I trust the buyer too. So far, I've had no problems doing that.

Import taxes in Australia are paid over 1000 au dollars.
Its ridiculous 45 us dollars for what could be posted in a letter but the Gsp has the control and this rate you have to weigh if its worth buying, also as i mentioned the sellers are confused.
Its an overcharge, thanks ebay.

I certainly understand your point. The shipping fee must definitely be considered when making a purchase for sure. It hurts both the buyer and the seller in the long run.

It definitely does.
