Hey guys....I'd like your thoughts on this Elvis...

I have a hand written letter from the lady who had this signed detailing how she received this from Elvis...that's her name on the envelope from the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas...

The letter states that she and two other ladies who were on vacation were told by their waitress that Elvis was dining in the Flamingo next door...They approached him and got an autograph or two...The thing that intrigues me about this is the following. The letter that accompanies this states that Elvis signed this on Tuesday February 25, 1969. A little bit of research tells us that Elvis flew from L.A. to Vegas on February 24th.

And that is interesting for two reasons...Elvis was accessible to fans before his full fledged return to Vegas in the summer of '69...plus there is little to no chance that the seller who was "just a fan" would have known if or how to confirm Elvis was in Las Vegas on February 25th, 1969. Fact is he WAS in Vegas on that date...I mention that F.Y.I.

I would appreciate your analysis...thanks in advance...

To help illustrate Elvis's signing habits when encountered by a fan here are authenticated examples from my personal collection.

These examples are a solid span of Elvis signing from the big bang of his career to the end.

Here is the exterior photo souvenir booklet the August Season 1972.

On the interior is the signed dinner photo from the previous nights show. These photos you could buy the next day, and were taken by the hotel photographer.

The men in the photo are whom the inscription is made out too.  Both were RCA executives who went backstage, and had Elvis sign the photo.

Hello again Dan !!!

I thought we had finished this topic at your suggestion...perhaps not...

Here once again is our friend Dan...always looking under the bed...lol...

It was you Dan who clearly asked to view examples that fit the criteria and then...poof...demanded or at least suggested that I stop posting such examples...That is clear for every member to see...

I couldn't wrap my head around you changing your mind about wanting examples but you clearly did...so at your suggestion I stopped...

Now what ???

You mad bro' ??

Don...Dan:

No degrading or personal attacks or I'll send you both into the corner for a while.

As for whether Don used online opinions or full authentication, Don should say what he used but unless there's concern about an autograph being a copy or machine-signed, a carefully examined online opinion by either of those two experts in Elvis is highly reliable.

Dan,

Please post the authentications for your Elvis autographs.

1955/ Rich Consola

1963/ Elvis A Rama Museum, and Chrisite Francis who obtained the signature in person first hand. Photographs of she and Elvis from that same day as autograph.

1969/ Barbara Belfort who obtained the signature in person.  Additional confirmation from JSA long time ago.

1972: Purchased from Russ Howe (Elvis Collector) whom purchased it from the person in the photo Bill who had it signed himself, with photos of Elvis backstage when he signed it.

1976: Purchased from Bob Hampton who was employed by the Memphis Press Scimitar and was friends with Elvis Presley. JSA check years ago as well.

The signatures are text book examples and obtained from first hand other than 1955 which was a recent purchase.

I have had these signatures for more than 20 years in my collection (except 1955)

Hope that answers your question.

For starters, you can tell us who authenticated each.
