Hello all I'm Clayton,

This is my first time on this forum. After reading a lengthy discussion about authenticity when I searched on google, I concluded that you all would be the gentlemen I should direct all my authenticity questions towards.

Below is an eBay auction link I am interested in purchasing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110699418606...

I have also attached photos of each signature he took individually upon my request, which look a lot like stock photos to me, but the Aaron signature makes me think they are at least not stock photos.

I usually only buy JSA, PSA/DNA, and Steiner authenticated products (I do have a few authenticated by others but after learning a little more have moved more towards those three) I would like to know your opinion on this item in particular and the reputation of Mounted Memories industry wide. If you care to go beyond that, if you could tell me your opinions of reputable authenticators for Baseball memorabilia as that is all I collect.

Thank you!

Hi Clayton,

Mounted Memories has been a reputable company with many private signings and athlete appearances at shows.  here is my take on the signatures.  The Mays looks good, the Aaron has me asking some questions.  First, it doesn't show the accompanying hologram actually on the ball.  Every Aaron signature that I have over the past 15 years that I received in person doesn't have his first name completely spelled out.  He usually put what looks like Hal.  He does have a tendency to be sloppy and crooked.  This signature also looks a little large for his writing.  As far a the Bonds.  Barry never signed his full name until a few years back when he started his own company.  Unfortunately, it was admitted that his friend and business partner was responsible for running the business and Barry himself said that the signatures from that company were not his.  This also corresponded to the change in his signature where you now see a full name written.  When these first came out, people paid a higher fee for the full name signature since it was not seen before.  The full name signatures were only available from his site and I wonder if Mounted Memories paid the company for the signing and then attached their COA to it.  If they didn't sit down and watch Barry sign these, then you have no idea who really did sign them.
