I am new to looking at his signature, but I would not touch it.
Do a search here to find Pete Chuka's compilation of authentic Rickman signatures. Also, Alan was not signing Potter items at this time - and it would be dedicated if he did.
Again, I'm no authority, but know enough to advise avoiding it.

Doesn't look like the real deal.

Definitely fake.

I appreciate all the reply's I am new to this so its rather helpful to have everyone here as a resource to learn from. I've always been an Alan Rickman fan but only recently have I wanted to begin collecting autographs. He is one of the top I think id love to have but sadly since his passing it has become quite hard. Thank you very much for taking time to look at this for me! Gregory I did find Pete's Compilation of signatures I appreciate your suggestion I shall study them! :)

Alan Rickman was a superb actor. A signed Potter photo would be very expensive. Hang in there and get a good, authentic example. It will be well worth it.

He very much was. Do you happen to know the reason he stopped signing Potter items at this point? I was going to assume it was his illness. Tho, I know he wasn't very public about that.

The crush and madness that came along with the press junket for Sorcerer's Stone, was enough for him, by the time he was out and about doing press for Chamber, he was done and refused to sign Potter material.

There were of course exceptions to the rule, small crying children or charity pieces, but for the fans and general public, every single poster or photo he signed would be inscribed and it had to be unrelated to Potter.

Side note, possibly as a thank you to fans that supported his other live performances, he would sign playbills without inscribing, I am guessing so that he could bang through the crowds at stage doors, but if you were getting posters or photos from his other films signed ....they were inscribed.

Interesting, thank you Pete! Im sure everything that came along with Harry Potter was unexpected and became overwhelming. I believe the first thing I saw him in was Robin Hood I loved him instantly.
