ALL of eBay Seller sieger6466 items are fake, Obama ball I purchased failed JSA

I purchased a Barack Obama baseball from eBay seller sieger6466 and in the auction, he GUARANTEED the ball to pass PSA or JSA. Well, JSA failed it and I contacted him to let him know. At first, he said just to return the ball and he would refund me my money, but he refused to go through eBay's channels, he just emailed me his address. After several back and firths, he finally authorized the return through eBay.

However, the seller is now refusing to refund the item unless i produce a letter from JSA saying it did not pass. JSA wants me to pay for this letter (they didn't charge me an authentication fee when it failed). Look at ALL of his autographs he is selling. JSA said they were ALL likely fake. This guy is a crook! Please report his listings that you think are not real.

Please let me know what everyone thinks. I have had several sources tell me ALL his listings are likely forgeries and since he has so many, he is doing it knowingly. Please tell me eBay will side with me and make him either pay for the JSA letter or refund me my money.

eBay policy states that all counterfeit items do not need to be returned, but destroyed and the buyer's money refunded.

Send the ball back. Ebay should have sent you and email, I would respond to the email and have ebay forward you a return label. If you don't return the ball the seller will most likely call ebay and it will be a headache. Ebay pays for the return shipping just request a label to cover youself. If you read the ebay policy "we have you covered plus return shipping" that's what that means, they will email you a label.

William, That link is exactly what I had to do to get my money back, thanks for putting that up there I couldn't remember the link.

Here is the link for returns http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/refunds.html#return

Even though the item is deemed as fake it is still a good idea to send it back because like William said the seller can fight it to get the item back. I'd contact eBay again for sure and have them email you the return label so you don't have to pay to return it, this is the best way to go about this otherwise the seller can and may contact ebay to have the item returned and if you damage the item or get rid of it there may be a possibility youll be on the hook for the full amount of the item. Just be safe and cover all of your bases before you do damage to the item that will come back to haunt you. Good Luck with this its a headache I know ive been through it before.

eBay sided with me and refunded my money, only took a couple of hours. The seller immediately sent two emails demanding that I send the ball back. I didn't think I should have to pay to ship it back so I called eBay about this. They said not to ship it back. Not sure what to do with it now. I feel like eBay should tell the seller this. What a mess!

I'll contact eBay again regarding the return label.

Concerning feedback, I feel like the minute I leave negative feedback, the seller will do the same on my account. This is probably why no one leaves negative feedback.

eBay transferred me to a line to report the seller, but after I was on hold for over ten minutes, I hung up. I figured I could find a link to do it online, but I could only find a place to report individual items. Maybe someone with some pull and experience can contact eBay and report the seller. They need to be stopped. I thought I could tell Obama signatures pretty good, but I obviously cannot. We need to protect those that trust sellers like this too much.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to offer advice.

The seller can not leave a negative on your account anymore. Do it there is nothing they can do.

Yes, the seller cannot leave negative feedback so leave him a negative.  Also do not send item back it is fake.  I would honestly destroy the item if it was me.  Make sure you have your money back first of course.  Let the seller be upset.  He is the one selling fake autographs.

Left negative feedback. eBay reiterated not to return the ball.

Its a forgery burn it.

Id send it back with "FAKE" written on the panels ahahah

Well done Ryan, at least it warns others. As for the ball, do not destroy it but keep it and hold on to it. If the seller wants it collected let them send a courier to collect and let them pay for it.

I've had items where eBay have told me not to return to the seller after deciding a case in my favour. About 2 out of 15 sellers sent a courier and collected the item.

If after 3 months or so the seller has not bothered to collect it then do as you wish with it, this would be classed as a reasonable amount of time for them to collect the item

I just feel it should be destroyed because the seller will try to just resell the item.  We know the items are fake so why feed the troll?

I would NOT return it even if he says he's "fetching" the item.  I would hold it as evidence however just for a short time before destroying it.

I would pay for the letter. Send the letter to eBay. It will cost you a bit.... but it's the only way to get your money back. I would stay away from eBay for autographs.... most items are fakes unfortunately
