I am new to the magazine and would love to extend a welcome to any and all history buffs from the period of time between ww1 & ww2.  I have anextensive collction of THe Honourable binbridge Colby A Secretary of state for woodrow Wilson and attorney with cliental such as William Sulzer & Mark Twain (sorry no actual Twains included0 however I have included in my first post a parial list of some ofthe  personal correspondence between Mr Coby and many many ofthe leaders of politics, environmentalists, train people, engineers, poets, arrtists, senators, governors, mayors and so many its hard to say al ofthem.  I invite everyone to look at the lists I hve prepared already and let me know what you feeel about my collection.  It explainswhere I grew up and how i obtained the collection.

I would happily post photos of items of interest you see.  And share the content ofthem to any historians researchingthe era.

Yes I am interested in selling the collection but right now after 40 odd years of not even realizing what i have i am becoming quitethe history buff of this time period.

Actually I am just burningthe midnight oil learning about these amazing people and their parts in history I had never heard of before.

I would LOVE to talk to relatives of people whose family members i have autographs from and have actually scanned a few just so the families can havethem as artifacts for their children.

It was an amazing period of time that I simply had no idea about and am loving the new hobby of looking through them.

So I am hoping that others are as interested inthe time period as I have become and possibly finding a collector who may be interested in the collection as a whole after I am done reading and learning.

So yes I am open to sellingthe collection but would hope one person would want it as a whole.

THe Library of Congress and the Missouri Historical society are hoping i may donate them one day but truthfully after 40 years of caring for them i would like to sell so i can get a new roof on my home.

But I just never know I may end up donating if no one seems interested which i find hard to believe.

So if youd like a friend to chit chat about these things i would love to share my time and talk and learn about alot ofthe people who i cannot even find info on google about but I know have significant history such as old African Anerican female singer/ storytellers and the society of artiststhat put on plays in california in the early part ofthe century.

Hoping to make new friends... have a wondeful day. i go in for surgery today so if i do not respond immediatekly i will in a few days---

With the kindest of regards,  joed

Wow, what a collection!  I too am interested in that time period as well.  I collect mostly cabinet members.  Recently I added Calvin Coolidge's attorney general, John Sargent, to my collection.  The secretaries of war and state were very interesting and not much is known about them.
Joe, I missed this until I saw it in activity after Alan replied to you. Have you joined the history group? You can point them to this discussion. I think you'll have some real interest.
