The fight continues. This is a known secretarial signature of Dan obtained through the mail. I was in contact with one of Dan's secretaries from the 80s and 90s who had confirmed my suspicions way back over 10 years ago. I never kept a record of her name. I was not big on authenticity other than my own items back then.
As we all know, over the last decade, especial during COVID, autograph collecting has had a resurgence. Its become popular on social media where people post their items. To this day, there is still a wide belief that this style is authentic. It is not. Dan has ALWAYS signed his "a" in a complete clockwise circle. Ive studied his signature going as far back as the 70s and this is always the case. Even in his regular handwriting style, it is always present. There are other give aways but this is the easiest way to spot a fake.
The reason for this post is because I came across yet another authenticated secretarial on ebay.... avoid this style!
