I was doing some autograph research wanted to see if I could get an opinion on a Marilyn Monroe autograph. I see that Marilyn has been a recent topic by another member so I'm sorry to have to bring up another example (I hope its not the same item). I found this Marilyn on an auction site and I have some very serious doubts about it being authentic. I'm sure this is laughable but I figure it doesn't hurt to check. I know she had many different signatures over the years and this item is listed as a "young Marilyn". Does this signature look true to that period or could it be a secretarial signing? I prefer getting autographs in person so this is a first for me. I am definately a rookie when it comes to her signature so I figured I'd ask the experts. Any inquiry would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Mike
By the way, this is a great forum. I might have to check this stuff out more often!
Like I said, pretty laughable! I found it on the auction site Proxibid being sold in a "high end" auction by Pioneer Auction Gallery. I usually avoid things like this especially on an auction site but the picture alone caught my eye. After seeing its "early signature in pen" I just had to look into it a bit further. The quality of the pen signature and my gut feeling told me to stay away but I was still intrigued.
Thanks for the input!
