Paid for the PSA quick peek and it came back "Likely not authentic" but they don't say why they think that.

Here is an update:  After consulting with my attorney, it was suggested that I file a mail fraud complaint with the FBI.  I am also contacting some tv stations in Gridiron's area.

Lastly, we are trying to put together a group to file a class action lawsuit against Gridiron Authentics/Joe Lamothe (owner).  If we can get enough people who are interested, this can move forward.  The interesting thing is, if we get a lawsuit underway, we can force Gridiron to give us their client list so that every person they have sold items to can be contacted.  They will lose every penny they have plus more!  I'm looking to get in touch with a sports attorney who would be interested in this, especially someone who would like to make a name for themselves.  If you have any interest in pursuing Gridiron, let me know.

How many people do you need to file a class action lawsuit? I would be in if I had bought something from them. How are you going about gathering these people? If you would rather not say on a public forum, I certainly understand and that may be the way to go.

I would love to see them get what they deserve. They have ripped off way too many people and their junk is all over the place now. You see it often with people selling it secon hand thinking it is real.

I was just going throught heir feedback and noticed Dave and Adam's Card World has bought quite a few items from them lately. You may want to contact them by phone and tell them what is going on. They are big sellers and have been around awhile.

They may help if you bring this to their attention.

I never heard of dave and adam's card world, is that their user name?  I will definitely contact them.  As far as gathering people, I'm not sure how many I need.  I would like to have at least 10 people.  The attorney would have a better idea.  It's getting to the point now where I can look at any Bradshw, Starr, Namath, Staubach, Jim Brown signature, etc. on Ebay and can tell right away if it is a Gridiron item without seeing the cert.  They also have another seller account on Ebay.  They have Gridiron Authentic and Gridiron Legends which was Gridiron Direct up until recently.

Steve,

I sent you a PM

Well, I finally heard back from Joe at Gridiron, 4 months later.  Now apparently, he is claiming that the items I sent him back were in terrible condition.  of course, complete lies as I have photo's of all the items.  A Staubach ball has the silver marker very smeared as that was how I receive it and even contacted them to let them know.  They seem to disregard all previous communication, and make up things as they go.  My attorney suggested I give them until this evening 1/2/13 to receive the full refund.  Nothing was refunded, so now I will file a mail fraud case with the FBI on Thursday morning.  It is really a shame that this guy is so full of himself that he thinks I will just go away.  I guess he will learn the hard way.

keep us posted.

Paperwork filed with FBI this morning.

I really hope they help you out. I filed it for a group of autographs I bought 6 years ago . I got a generic return email , and they never once got back to me .  It was $2700 in total. I am out my money , the autographs (as I returned them ) , authentication fee. If you dont file within ebay or your credit card companies time limit. You are close to screwed. It was a leraning experience and it was costly but it opened my eyes on how to file a claim and what steps to take.

Anthony, if I end up filing the class action lawsuit, I will make sure to add your name to the complainant list if you like.

Gridiron now has several different Ebay accounts going: gridironauthentics_direct, gridironlegends, and gridironauthentics.  They have also changed names several times.  So, however many items you see being sold from the same athlete, you can probably triple that.

Looks like everyone is too trusting even after they found out this guy cheated them.

6 years later you filed!?

If they didn't give you a refund within a business day or so that was the time to take action.

When I returned my helmet I sent it to their PO Box with a signature required. The day after it was signed for I contacted Joe and when there was no response I filed claims with Ebay & PayPal immediately.

I also had a Notice of Intent prepared that was ready to be emailed and mailed to them if all my expenses were not paid back even before I received the refund from PayPal.

If you get the class action going, which you can start with just one plaintiff, let me know & I'll add my info to the mix.

Good luck!
