it's hard for me i  never have them personilze it, they just never ask if they do i get it signed to me or whoever i plan on giving it to.

Im assuming you want to get it signed to sell it since you don't want it personlized? If so all you can do is not mention anything if you plan out say don't personilze it they might just refuse to sign as it wiould be quite obvioues its just going for sale

 

if its for you or a friend just get it signed to you-if they ask normally bigger stars won't even ask just sign and go. Now if it is forsale and they want to personilze it either give them a common name like john or mike. or hand them a marker that you could later remove the personilaztion

The poster that I am getting signed is by Joan Baez, it is the 1966 Peace/Winne the Pooh poster and I'd like to give it to one of my children, but they are 2.5 years old and 6 months old - I am not sure which one will gravitate towards it the way I did when my dad showed it to me in a book when I was younger.

The original printings of that poster are fairly valuable.  The poster artists know where to sign, but musicians sometimes deface the poster. If it's personalized or signed over the image or text, that could end up hurting the value of the poster.

ifthey still want to personailze it im sure if u saw to sign it to say the  "boshears" family they would assumeing that's your last name. /it also depends on the situation if you have a more personal meet to get it signed you could just tell joan what you told us
