Asking for opinions on Babe Ruth cut signature

Found this at a flea market, and the seller who I have known for years told me he has had this for at least 25 years. He is a very honest man, and will not charge me anything if it turns out to not be authentic. What do most of you think?

Barry had everything! Allegedly, Babe Ruth's 1927 World Series ring (that later Charlie Sheen wound up with), Babe's hat, coat, shoes, uniforms, even Babe's kitchen sink! lol To this day, people are still just finding out that many of the incredible fantasy items that they bought from the Halper collection, was just that. Barry's fantasy.

Makes the 11 million or so dollars that buyers lost on Dwayne Garrett's auctions (God rest his soul) minor by comparison
