Authenticity of Rolling Stones Bridges to Babylon lithograph

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I've been looking at picking up a hand signed Rolling Stones Bridges to Babylon lithograph and found one for sale, however, it doesn't appear to be numbered. The others I've seen have a pencil number of the 125 issued in the lower left corner. The seller has checked and there's definitely no number. He thinks it could be an artists proof, extra copies signed in case numbered copies are damaged. Does this sound feasible? I've tried googling this but can't find anything.

Thanks!

Karl

Any chance it's an artist proof, hence un-numbered?

Hi Rich, that's what the seller thinks, but nobody seems to know for sure

Leave it up to me to miss that in your initial post!

Hey guys, like I said earlier my un numbered one was signed right at a show in 98 at a pre show VIP party .it was a winning lottery type of deal.one winner out of around 500 people.signed and framed immediately.the guy who sold it to me showed me the actual pictures of the signing.so in my case,I kw where my unnumbered litho originated from.

Thanks - I'm still catching up with these posts.  I should have done that before I commented.

Artist proofs usually have an A/P where the number should be

Yes, they generally do have an A or A/P.  But not always, as I understand.

However I'm guessing in this instance, since there are other unnumbered signed prints, that any actual artist proof(s) probably would have that designation.  Just a guess.

Hi guys.I just happened to stumble upon this site and more importantly the subject matter being discussed.Like Karl I also have a bridges lithograph that is not numbered.I think I have two more to complete what I can find of the set so I have some ready references to compare the bridges litho to those that are numbered. My not numbered lithograph has a couple of other differences that set it apart.Under Keith's signature he has written"crossing the bridge 97.Under ronnies signature he has written"welcome to bridges" with 97 in a circle and a drawing I have seen attributed to Ronnie of what loosely looks like a horse. Also the signatures on this lithograph aren't anywhere near as dark as the others.I bought this lithograph from the stones official website.I don't know where to get this thing looked at.Any help would be gratefully accepted. Thanks for reading this ramble,Paul

Hey Paul,I Own two of them posted I'n pics I'n this thread.anyway I would assume it's absolutely real if you purchased it from the website.can you post a picture.also which othe ones do you have from the set?

Thanks for the reply. The ones I have in no particular order are sticky fingers,Australian tour 73,Stripped,Pembroke Castles73,Tour of Europe73,Rolling Stones tour with the woman pointing and all the tv's,Some Girls,American Tour 72,and the Andy Warhol version of Sticky Fingers.I think their might be a few more but that unencumbered bridges intrigues me as to it's approx value.Do you have any that I don't because I'd love to have the whole set.Regards Paul

I also have sttripped ,tour of Europe 73,some girls, and austrailian tour 73. I also have a real nice tattoo you.and the Jeff koons signed litho.

I forgot something that is rather unique. This back cover of the tattoo you album is Keith's face tattooed.I have a 5foot by 3.5 foot copy of the back of the album cover on canvas.A friend of mine got it when they were thinking about using it for something.Well the idea got canned.I think there is about 6 out there.Pity it's not signed.
