Hello, I don't know if Im out of line here but I need help.

In 5 days I will have a dream come true. I will be meeting Gene & Paul from Kiss.

I will be bringing the following Items to have signed

 1977 Metal lunch pail

1977 plastic thermos

Album cover

Can someone help me with what type of sharpie should be used for each. I don't want to screw this up.  Will the thermos need extra drying time before I cover and put it away

Thanks

myself id use a paint marker as it will mkae the signatures stand out more and really make them pop im not sure about the color of the lunch box ect. but id prob use a silver paint marker for them if they were darker, ive found normal sharpies tend to not sit well on plastic and wipe/smudge easy

Thanks    what size tip would you recommend?

Fine tip sharpie paint pen or Decocolor paint pen.  I had a situation last week where I went to the signing.  Much to my chagrin, the athletes at the signing sort of insisted that they use the regular sharpies provided by the venue rather than use my paint pen. I tested the markers out on similar surfaces, and they look awesome.  I definitely agree with Steven, as some of the sharpies the athletes used look great, some came out dull, and some didn't work at all.  Mind you, the venue gave them straight out of the box sharpies too..

Thanks to all,

I spent half a day looking for paint pens.

the only ones I could find were ( and I bought all of them)

Black sharpie Fine point - I will use for the thermos.

Silver Elmers Fine point - I think i will use this for the lunch box its rather dark.

Silver sharpie medium - Dont think I will use. Rather thick and took alot of shaking and still

                                          left streaks.

Any tips on charging them up before handing them over to them? Im thinking of bringing \

a notebook to test pens before hand. Thanks

OK, I got my sigs. They signed all three with white paint pens. look pretty good, Gene's are streaky like he was not pushing down hard enough. I want to display my album in a frame , would a regular glass album frame protect my

sigs good enough?

Im going to find a glass display case for my lunch box and thermos, right now I have plastic bag slid over top of them so I can still display them.

Thanks for your help.

You might want to consider having the album matted professionally and use of ultraviolet protective glass to help minimize fading.  That is the biggest danger to framed items.  The matting will prevent the image from being directly against the glass.  Of course keep out of direct sun and light.  By the way congratulations I am glad you were able to get the autographs you wanted.

Awesome! If you don't already have Ace & Peter, Ace will be at Chiller in NJ and Peter at Rock & Shock in MA next month. Peter is saying he's not doing any more signings after this year.

Take a deco marker for the metallic ink. At these signings ( I have done 3 since 2009 ). Sometimes, they have a variety of pens. Sometimes just sharpies.

This years VIP Gathering is better than ever with the private "unplugged" concert.

For the rest of your question, if the thermos is slick like the other 70's and 80's thermos containers, then I would be sure to give it extra drying time.

Have FUN and be sure to show us those autographs
