does anyone else want to comment on these MJ signatures being offered in Autograph World's current auction? Has anyone purchased other Jacko signatures from them that look like this? Thanks...D

I moved this to music autographs, Darren.

I'm not comfortable with either of these Michael Jacksons. I've never seen him sign "Love" like that. But regarding the signature itself, one thing I look for, especially on MJs, is whether it looks like the small letters are written or just squiggles. These look like squiggles to me...you know what I mean?

The first one is definitely a fake...second one is questionable at best...Yuck

I agree with Cee Gee, the Thriller item seems way off, he usually signed that in the white part of the jacket, on the right.

the second one looks better, but I wouldn't want either one in my collection,

I'd be a NO vote too. There are many items in their past history that I wouldn't touch with a 10ft pole including Jackson.

Does it come with a COA?  If it does, I guess it doesn't really matter one way or another.  Since selling fake autographs is a multi decade long business for some companies, it looks like autograph auction is just trying to get a small percentage of market share.  If you call autograph auction and voice your opinion, maybe they will take this item off their website.

good luck

i only bring it up because aren't these fellows some big autograph company that is always getting pats on the back from the UACC? How did these get past the "Sh*t to return to consignors" pile of junk at their offices? If you're going to be in the autograph business and proclaim that you are UACC registered dealer #2 why would you chance such a thing? Looking at the U2, Boss, and other music sigs I'm not liking what i'm seeing there either! This is a problem. People who do not know music signatures, getting involved in music signatures. Plain and simple.
They're a good outfit with a great reputation. These surprised me. If you tell them your concerns, I think they'll take a serious look and see if they agree with you.
I may do that, but looking at past AW auctions, I only see a couple MJs that cut the mustard. I am sure they are good at movies & celebrity, but I would take a little break with the music. Looks like MJ is not the only problem in Rock and roll land.
That's surprising to me. Post some examples if you feel like it.
i do have a life, but i will go through them when i get an extra few minutes and post them here, will be a nice excercise to keep my mind off work...D
It's addicting right Darren?!

here they are below. I must however amend my past statement of a "couple" if people want to take that term literally as in 2. I had only looked at auctions ending within the last year. After cruising back to auctions starting around mid-2008 there are a lot of GOOD Michael Jackson signatures and this continues for a good while...then things start to fall off the rails a bit. I am not trying to pick on AW in the least bit as I'm sure they have good intent, BUT you absolutely cannot sell music autographs (or any other genre) if you are not familiar with what you are selling. It would be like me going out and trying to sell Louis Vuitton handbags to someone and telling them Yes they are real. How the hell would I know if they are real?? OR even me going out and selling historical, space, or playboy model autographs, I know ZILCH about these things and you will never see me comment on the authenticity of something if I have no experience with the signature or personality.  People should do what they know and stop worrying about all of the money they can be making by expanding their business.
