does anyone else want to comment on these MJ signatures being offered in Autograph World's current auction? Has anyone purchased other Jacko signatures from them that look like this? Thanks...D

Very solid 0 for 4 there.

Steve, who's selling that?  Those are REALLY bad forgeries.

Forgeries? But look at Bono signing it!

That photoshop trick has been done before - plus, that's an unusually grainy photo for 2005.

Those signatures are terrible.

Yep...Photoshopped for sure. The guitar was from American Royal Arts, supplied by Gallery of Dreams. ARA used the altered photos to sell forged guitars. It was on 20/20 and Inside Edition. Here's the album:

These clowns are always good for an easy joke, eh? But, it still made me laugh.
I remember the ARA thing, but I thought this was something that someone was still selling!
Amazing item, yes.  Ten grand?  No.
$10,000 is too much regardless . . . but it is particularly unique in that it is signed by McGuinness and Daniel Lanois (who has actually not been on speaking terms with the band since 2009).  In addition, the item itself is gorgeous and the signatures are excellent examples.  How hard would it be to get perfect autographs on a large item like that without wrecking the thing! Cut the price in half and he might have some more interest . . .

Speaking of MJ, I came across this today. Long gone in a trade before he passed (can you say, out a thousand pounds?), but thankfully i still have images. His autograph varies so much that you absolutely have to have a "feel" for it. It is not science, it is an art. you need a good "nose" - like Caizzo with Pau.l McCartney, Epperson with Elvis, and Greg with Hendrix, you just have to have that thing to be able to pull out the good ones.

The first 3 signatures were signed within 24 hours of each other and to me there isn't a single thing that looks the same in any of them. Had I not been there I don't know if I would believe it myself. Just goes to show you how someones signature can change from hour to hour, but it still keeps that certain "X" factor that cannot be duplicated.

All of these look no-question good. And there you have the "Love" we're all used to seeing. Very different than the two you asked about.
No, I know Steve. I may have gotten a bit off subject, I was just trying to convey how his signature changed, literally sometimes by the hour. Yes, they are all obviously good, BUT I cannot see a similarity in the three of them and I was there! The "ackson" part of #2 and 3 are pretty similar, but other than that, they all have very different features. Just trying to show that it is not a signature that you can compare against a couple and come up with an executive decision. You just have to have a feel for them.
