They're apparently doing it again this year, but I have yet to see a list of the books. I'll post one a link or image is available.

There typically is a complete list that comes out, but I'm just not seeing it yet for some reason.

It seems like the only Black Friday in-store exclusives id'ed so far are:

• "The World Needs More Purple People" by Kristen Bell
• "Ready Player Two" by Ernest Cline
• "The Law of Innocence" by Michael Connelly
• "The Full Plate" by Ayesha Curry
• "Untamed" by Glennon Doyle
• "Greenlights" by Matthew McConaughey
• "Natalie Portman's Fables" by Natalie Portman
• "One Life" by Megan Rapinoe
• "The Best of Me" by David Sedaris
• "Is This Anything?" by Jerry Seinfeld

Sorry for another question but how do we confirm they will have them in store? call on wednesday? also how early should we get there on friday? Thanks!

I guess you could - really this varies by store. I never got in line too early, and there was never a huge line, but the store I went to was in a fairly small city. If there's no comprehensive list prior to Black Friday, that might taper crowds a bit, especially with (presumably) less Black Friday foot traffic due to the pandemic.

Just a heads up, the Natalie Portman book and the Seinfeld are probably the two biggest titles they've revealed thus far, and there will be a lot of people vying for them.

Based on how limited the Fables books were at indie stores, I don't expect individual B&N stores to get many copies (especially with 600+ B&N stores nationally), and I'm guessing you'd need to be one of the first in line to get either (assuming every store actually has them).

I thought Halsey might be a candidate considering that she has a B&N exclusive version of her new book - and she did a limited book signing for Book Soup. Haven't heard any confirmation so far though, and you'd think it'd be posted in that image is she was among the names.

I thought that too, but the books she signed for Book Soup were signed on the title page, and not publisher direct tip-ins like the Portman/Seinfeld/McConaugheys so I think she actually had to sign a stack of books which is more labor-intensive. She also might be done signing stuff due to all of the Manic preorders [sort-of] fulfilled this year. Assuming 5 copies per B&N, that's 3,000+ books you're committing to sign.

That said, I was 99% certain that Portman wouldn't participate in this sort of thing after all of the other stuff, and I was completely wrong on that one. She went from a relatively scarce autograph to potentially releasing 7,000+ autographs into the wild (indie tip-ins, event bookplates, preorder art prints, and now B&N signed editions).

My signed "I Would Leave Me If I Could" books from Book Soup actually just showed up today out of the blue. I suppose I can't be 100% certain they're authentic with all of the bull that musicians/labels are pulling these days, but at the very least it's not the UK autopen from earlier this year which is nice.

Ah, those are legit. I seemed to have missed the cut on the initial 100 or so copies when I ordered online (guessing priority went to phone orders). Last correspondence I had from Book Soup is that they were trying to get more stock in. They already charged my card that Friday it went on sale, so I guess we'll see .

When you go to the site, what is your most recent Order Status? I must've missed the initial 100 by a couple of minutes at most, and then my order switched to "Payment Received - CC" on Sunday. They also added a message saying that they would ship once more came in (I guess Halsey or Anthony agreed to sign more to fulfill the existing orders?).

They were supposed to cancel the orders they couldn't fulfill, but were still processing stuff as late as the 16th. If yours says "Payment Received" then they'll probably show up soon, if it still says "Pending" then I have no idea and you might want to call them.

It does show up as payment received, nothing about shipping though.

Yeah, trying to get Portman and I don't mind getting there really early but it would be unfortunate if i'm first in line and they don't have the copy haha
