Hi all,

I'm new to all this so please bare with me and apologies in advance for any forum faux pas on my part.

I have a Beach Boys autograph collection on a pair of (Made in the USA) Converse "Chucks" boots. These belonged to a guitarist who, with his band, opened for the Beach Boys in the 1986 25 Anniversary tour.

I do recognise some of the signatures but there is one that i can't make out. Whilst I know the history of the boots there is no history recording the same so I doubt there is any value in them although the vintage Chucks themselves are worth a bob or two.

Anyone able to confirm the autographs for me and is there any collectors value without a COA

Cheers

Graham

The top picture is Al Jardine and Jeff Foskett (long touring member with The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson) the 2nd pic is Bruce Johnston. The last is Carl Wilson.

Also, I personally would say these are authentic. Not sure about value as they are on shoes and personalized.

Hi Adam, thanks for the reply, I have no doubts about the authenticity as I know the guy personally and he is the bass player of a very well known band in its own right and supported the boys at the time.

In the first pic I was unsure of the Fosket signature to me it looked like Clapppppy lol

The boots have a collectors value (somewhere around (£100) but not really an item that would be collectable to an autograph hunter. I don't think they would be wearable to a classic clothes wearer either :)

I'll be honest and say I have no attachment to them as I'm not a Beach boys fan though I am an addicted vinyl fan and make/refurbish turntables. I'd ideally like to swap them with a collector who would appreciate them maybe for a signed item that I would more appreciate.

My problem is that I do not have any idea on their value or if knowledge of history alone is enough to support the authenticity.

I guess this happens a lot and why this area is abused so much by fraudsters.
I've just realised that in the three pics shown I haven't the two other signatures :) on the missing side of one of the pair are Brian Wilson and Mike Love (they're the two names I could identify :))

I'll add that side when I get a chance to pick them up as they are currently with me Dad.
Go the chucks.haha. I seen a b boys pillow case signed once. What kind of vinyl do you collect? I have heaps. The shoes would be valuable if they were kurt cobains chucks.
Hi Paul a varied selection although my passion is in the turntables. I'm very much into DIY audio and build TTs

My current pair are a TD160B in a self made plinth and a Technics direct drive with a very unusual levelling system again in a homemade solid wood plinth. I've also got three Lencos down the shed which will be going into two heavy solid birch ply plinths one to be very unusual and unique.

My prize vinyl possession is an original first release of the Stones Let it Bleed album with the inner cover still showing the Gospal Choir in the credits. This was only released for around a week before being recalled due to the drugs association of some of the tracks which the Choir did not want any link with. When the first release was sent back out again the Choir has been blacked out until the issue sold out then after that it was deleted from the print. I've also got a copy with the blacked out inner sleeve :)

There's also a first release of DSOTM with the solid triangle instead of the more well known prism/rainbow. Oh and a second release with the blue edged triangle.

My music tastes are 70's rock though it's varied. I do for instance like a nice bit of Cole Porter or some Fats Domino but I also like the bands from the 80's and 90's. A big Cure fan and have seen them live a number of times same as James and the glory that is The Wedding Present. Ah the days of my youth.
Is it a mono pressing of let it bleed with a book of all their previous catalog. Where do you get the diy turntables from? I love vinyl signed or rare copies even rare copies sell for a fortune not even signed by band members.
Ones a mono the other is stereo.

My TTs are from all sorts of places. The Thorens was an ebay find and cost me under £60 without the arm it now has the original arm for the TT as it would have originally been sold. The Lencs are a different story one cost me a pound as it was in a old stereogram and nobody else put a bid in lol one was £53 and the third was given to me to use in one of my projects.

I've put the gubbins of a Systemdek into a meter long lump of bogwood. That's the Beast and was amazing although it suffered from central heating and dried further eventually splitting the wood and twisting onto the sub platter.
I've rebuilt an old bush radiogram with a valve amp and radio and an old Garrard RC80 which I gave to me Dad as a Chrissie present to play his 78's.

Other projects done or on the go so always keeping me busy
How are those Welton that look like space ships.
Not come across them so can't say

Do you have any autographs and I love the beach boys.

Sorry Pal only the Chucks I'm afraid
