I recently purchased this at an Chicago area estate sale. It was hanging in the rec room of the home and as you can see it's been nicely matted and framed. The story is that the previous owner spotted RFK walking through an airport and asked for his signature. All that was available was this 1965 copy of TIME and a pencil. Sen. Kennedy gladly obliged.
If you look closely you can see someone has painted clear nail varnish over the signature in an effort to preserve it.
Any thoughts on authenticity?

Looks real. Shame about the nail varnish.

Thanks hitmanten, I appreciate your response.

On one hand if it was anything other than pencil it could have been dissolved then and there, but pencil is among the most permanent on its own...at least it hasn't yellowed.

I was thinking the same thing. We've all seen the dreaded yellow baseballs.
