Went to Brian Wilson's show tonight here in jacksonville, hoping to get his autograph. He did not sign on his way into or out of the theater. At one point, shortly before show time, his manager (at least that's how he described himself to the security staff) was asked by a young girl if he could get Brian to autograph an item she had. He took it and was on his way into the theater when a few more people jumped in and begged him to take their items, and he took 5 more things, two of which were from 2 guys that were with me waiting most of the day. Shortly afterwards, he came back out with all the items signed, and my two friends were really, really happy until they let me look at the sig and I told them I didn't think it was Brian's signature on the album cover, and then looking at my other friends CD, it didn't look good to me either. This upset them, of course. All I remember is some pictures posted here a few weeks ago with a dramatically different signature, I think Brian was sitting in a car signing in those..then I start thinking about it- the "manager" took the items, walked into the theater, down a long tunnel, walked across the stage, climbed a flight of stairs, went to the dressing room, handed or laid out 5 items for Wilson to sign...and was back at the stage door in 3 minutes? I felt that this guy had signed the items himself...but I do not have an authentic, in-person sig of my own to compare from any period of his career. So I took some lousy pictures of my friends two items, you guys throw me your thoughts..

Those look spot-on authentic to me. In fact, they are actually pretty good signatures from Brian for what he typically gives out now. Both are 100% authentic, IMO.

Hi Devon,

I recently came across this authographed photo and was wondering if Brian's signature looked authentic to you.  I have two other signatures where I was present when Brian signed - both of my signatures are a little different even though they were made maybe 45 seconds apart.  Thanks

Hi Joe. This one is tough because it has similar traits to his very rushed, abbreviated signature. However, something about the Wilson looks off to me. There’s just not much there to go on, and while it’s possible it’s authentic, I would probably pass on it for a better example.

Thank you, Devon!

My pleasure, Joe!  Best of luck in your hunt. I have a killer signed limited edition show poster from his Pet Sounds show at the Ryman in Nashville if you are interested. I obtained it myself. Send me a PM and let me know. MUCH nicer signature than this.

that's a common b w from from his sig changes deppening on how many people and how freaked out he gets.

That article is referring to Jeff Foskett, who is no longer with Brian. It is well known that Jeff used to sign for Brian sometimes. Brian's current manager/assistant/handler does not. I've included a couple of pics of signatures I received in person from Brian over the last few months on this current tour for comparison.

Here's the another in-person signature I've received from Brian on his current tour.

You saw him sign that? If so, I would have to agree with you that they are real...as for Foskett, that's not really my point- if one guy signed for him before, there's no reason to believe someone else isn't doing it as well, correct?

Yes. I saw Brian sign both of the signatures I posted, and both were signed in 2015 on the current tour. Both were signed a foot in front of me. I was commenting on the validity of the article you posted in regards to his current handler signing for Brian - which there has been no report of. Jeff was doing it before on the Beach Boys' 50th Anniversary tour when they were selling signed items. There has been no indication it has happened since.

Great! Thank you for your input!
