Can someone provide their opinion on the Pink Floyd signatures?

Last week I purchased a Pink Floyd autographed guitar from 'The Art of Music' store in Las Vegas. Can someone provide their opinion on the authenticity of the signatures?

Hello,

Unfortunately i dont think this item is authentic. Art of Music has a very bad reputation in my opinion. I have never seen an autograph posted here from them that i thought was authentic. Most of the stores in Vegas are trouble in my opinion.

Here is a link to a thread on them. Or you can google Art of Music fake autographs. There are plenty of hits.

I hope you paid with credit card. Contact your card and reverse the change thats fake like most of their inventory if not all

I don't believe these are authentic. I would try and get a full refund.

I want to thank everyone for their feedback. I called Visa to see if the charge was processed and unfortunately it was a few days ago. The credit card company wants me to first request a refund from The Art of Music since I have not received the shipment as of yet. I sent an email last night to the Gallery Director, Scott S. who sold the guitar to me. I have not received any response as of yet.

Ive been to Vegas 4 times and always go through the multiple places that have autographs for sale. They literally have everything pertaining to autographs but I dare not buy anything. In my opinion most of the stuff is bad!

The Gallery Director emailed me back. Here's his response:

Sal,

I've discussed this with our VP, and at this point there are two options. First, we will send this guitar physically to have the signatures authenticated. Once this is done, we can proceed with framing it for you, or if there is a problem with them, we will then refund your money to you in full.

If you're still not comfortable with the item once its authenticated, I can then issue you a store credit for the full amount.

The other option is that I can issue you a store credit now.

As a company, we cannot base any kind of decision on opinions of random people who have seen a picture online. I'm sure you can appreciate that.

Let me know what you'd like to do, and we'll proceed from there.

Thank you,

~Scott

So now I'm going to need to take the next step. I already contacted the Mirage Hotel which I don't expect much on that end. I already filed a complaint with my Credit Card company but I'm not sure how much that will help.  So I may have to file a police report. Although I don't know how to find out who the President of the company is or the owner.  Does anyone have this information?

Thank you,
Sal

Have you seen this thread? Someone was recently able to get a full refund plus shipping costs from The Art of Music...

Stick to your guns, get your money back. People that sell forgeries hate us. I would be interested in who would "authenticate" this for them. Make sure it is a major company if you go that way (psa/jsa} or Roger Epperson (signedsealeddelivered) you can quick opinion 15 dollars! See who is telling the truth!

Sal,

This is the typical BS reply that companies like this always give. I guarantee you they have that exact same reply saved on their computer system, and they just cut and paste it. And from all the complaints i have seen, they probably use it very often. But do what the others said, stick to your guns. FULL REFUND!!  No exceptions, and dont let them lie to you or try and sway you with "store credit". As the store credit will wind up putting you in the same situation just with another piece.

The authenticator they talk of will be a joke. You can bet on that. It will either be some no name FDE, Chris Morales, Drew Max, and just possibly GA. Although i doubt GA would even cert this. But companies like this never send there items that are questioned to the respected authenticators, they know exactly what the result would be. So dont let them do that.

Notice how they changed the subject on you and offered to frame it for you. Almost all of the time, the frame job is more valuable than the fake autograph, by a large margin. They are great at framing, the autograph is just fake.

So most definetly, dont accept store credit, and make sure they give you a full CASH refund. File charges with your credit card. Get the quick opinion from Roger Epperson for 15 dollars. He is JSAs music authenticator, and the best with these guys. And i am very confident the result will be a big negative. As a 2nd backup, for your credit card company, i would take your picture  of the item and create a mock ebay auction. So that you can run a PSA quick opinion on it for like 7 dollars i think. The credit card company will probably accept these 2 as good proof.

But dont let these guys try and sweet talk you with empty gestures.

Good luck,

Carl

Carl,

Thank you very much for your advise. Could you please elaborate on creating a mock ebay auction to run a PSA quick opinion?  Not sure I understand this part and even how to create a mock ebay auction.

Also, I wanted to mention that I just purchased this guitar approximately 7 days ago, they are still in the process of framing and it hasn't even been shipped to me. I'm trying to stop the process before it gets to the point of them shipping it out.  So they haven't even done much in 7 days to inconvenience themselves. All they really need to do to avoid a problem with me is to charge back my credit card. The salesperson hasn't even gotten paid commission yet. This goes to show you that they are really crooks and could care a less about who they screw over.  I spoke to the Mirage Retail Operations Manager and they are going to look into this and get back to me next. They understand it's a bad reflection on the hotel but I don't expect much to come out of this. I think my next step is to file a police report although that may be difficult since I live on the east coast.

Thank, Sal .....keep your opinions coming it's helps us consumer's from getting screwed!

Your credit card should be able tho cancel the transaction since you haven't taken possession of it. I'd call and fight them like crazy over it.

Sal,

take many pictures of the guitar and post it for sale on eBay, as is done normally for any item.

Then, go to http://www.psacard.com/Store/t-quickopinion.aspx and enter the ebay item # and checkout.  Quick opinion should arrive within 24-48 hours by email.  Once you get the quick opinion, end the auction.

Good luck, hope you get your refund!
