Hi everyone! I'm new on here and looking for your opinions on a piece that I just bought. I have just bought a cast signed Ghostbusters poster from Antiquities of California via their website. I have compared some of the signatures and they look alright from what I've seen, but then again I don't know anything about authenticating a signature.

This was a pretty expensive piece but I'm a huge fan and I've been looking for a real one for a long time. After doing some research on this website I have gotten a little weary about their authentications and was just wondering if you guys could help me out. I do want to stress however that so far their staff has been very kind and haven't given me a reason distrust them, but I feel that I should cover all of my bases. They claim that all of these signatures were done at the same time during a scheduled sitting.

I haven't received the poster yet so I will give you the pictures that I have, but I can post better ones in a few weeks when it comes in if needed.

Thanks for your opinions, this is a great web site!

Woop woop! I didn't totally screw up! It's a good day to be alive lol

So you agree that the Gridiron Authentics signatures are bad but don't think that they'll do the same with the celebrity stuff? Have you ever looked at some of the Harrison Ford signatures that they sell? Not to mention some of the other celebrities?

I know that they are bringing in Weaver and Stallone to comic con but you don't think there is a chance of sprinkling in the forgeries now? If they do it with Gridiron why would Celebrity be any different?

So you think that they are going to forge the Weaver autograph that I ordered?

All I am saying is be careful and if you are spending $165 for a signature make sure they give you an EXACT photo of her signing.

Zebras don't change their stripes..

Thanks, I'll be cautious for sure! I do feel good about this, especially because of the picture that I'm getting.
Maybe I'm wrong, but this feels much more legitimate.

I'll take what you have said into consideration though.

You're preaching to the choir, s I've made this argument myself before. But as it stands, there's no evidence of bad CA stuff... yet.

I'm willing to look at any samples you can point to that look suspicious, though.

Yes and obtaining Bill Murray will surely add to your memories. LOL

Yeah I totally agree with you. Unfortunately I can't make it to the New York Con to meet Weaver, but I couldn't pass on the chance to get her autograph a different way.

The next one I will go for is Dan Aykroyd, as I'm sure he will be in Canada at some point next year for his vodka.

Ernie Hudson should't be too difficult either as I know he often pops up at conventions. The rest should be a pretty good challenge though. Bill Murray will be the holy grail though... and I doubt I'll ever get him but you never know.

When my poster comes in I'll post the pics up here
