It has been brought to my attention that Christian Bale always adds an inscription to his signature.  Does anyone know of any authentic examples where this is not the case?  Thanks in advance.

Hi, Mike.

I recently purchased this photo with no dedication (nor was one erased).

Pete

You can't always tell if it was erased. Most smart IP guys I know understand how to condition the tip of their markers so that it does not leave any permanent marks in the photo. So often, the personalization can be erased with no trace.

The image is dark on my PC but it looks like he did write 'regards'.

He did write "Regards" Michael.  Peter, my concern is that I was told that Christian Bale always inscribes "Regards" whether it is personalized or not.  If that is true then anything being sold without an inscription is suspect.  Thanks for posting your autographed photo.  I love it.

he dont always personalise.

in fact all my IP have been signed "regards christian bale" and i was never asked my name. i just asked for things to be signed politely instead of screaming and being pushy like others and said thank you.

He did write "Regards", but he did not dedicated it to anyone.

When PSA/DNA does their assessement, they note on their website (when you enter the certificate #) whether any ink has been removed. I checked the website for this photo and nothing was noted. When the item arrives (I just bought it a few days ago), I will check it myself.

Thanks Peter.

Hi, Mike.

The photo arrived today and, without question, NO INK has been removed from its surface.

Pete

Thanks Pete.

What you say about PSA noting ink removal might be their normal process but it is not always noted so do not assume that they will always note that information. Especially with bulk orders submitted by dealers. Most of the time I am just happy when they actually get the item added to the online database at all.

If you cannot tell that an inscription was removed that does not necessarily indicate that one was not there and might have been erased per my note above.
