Here's one I'd like to get an opinion on. It's a Gable signature on a Laszlo Willinger photo from a movie called "Strange Cargo." I've wondered about this one for a long time. I sent a photo of the autograph in to AutographCOA some time back for an online opinion. They said it was good. I'd still like to have some of your thoughts about it.
There is some guy selling copies of this exact same photo on eBay for about $10. It's the same identical signature in exactly the same spot as this signature. I've looked at this signature very closely under the lights. This signature was signed with a pen. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks Ladies and Gentlemen, Mike.ohotograph

The one I found is $549 with a Piece of the Past COA. From the info, and that scan, I can't say much but ACOA only saw a scan. Very hard to say like ink from a scan. I also note the ink is the same color as the photo...
Link.
Yeah, that's mine. Actually it has 2 coas, one from potp and the other from an online opinion by AutographCOA.
Do you want me to duplicate the position of my photo to yours?
And here:
I see slight indentation in the paper of the autographed photo you used as an example. It's slight, but it's there. I've been a painter/carpenter for 53 years. I'm really used to looking at colorants on surfaces. I may not know much about authenticating autographs. But I do know surfaces, paints, inks, and paper. For a few years I was an advertising artist for a medium sized newspaper in Houston Texas. I got to know printing, paper, and inks pretty well.
Yes, well, I have been a professional artist with work sold around the world for many decades. Can you photograph the indent on yours?
I too am well versed with color, ink and paper. My restorations of historic images have been published by Yale, The History Press, Norton, the National Building Museum and so on. But none of this has to do with the fact there are two of your item, both with POTP COA's. One MUST be a copy.
I just noticed - the other one has a ACOA QO as well! Just like yours. Now what?
"Yeah, that's mine." Not quite clear is that. You are selling an autograph that you have posted here questioning the authenticity!
The fact that you are questioning it eliminated the possibility for me that it was you selling it! How can you sell something you are questioning???
We are NOT here to assist your sales of items you are questioning!
Nobody's asking to to assist me with selling or not. I just wanted your opinion on an autograph. I honestly don't know how you make this stuff up in your mind. Just one question, what are you here for? I asked for an opinion of an autograph. You chose answer. I didn't realize there were conditions that must be met to be able to ask for opinions. The solution to that is simple enough. Next time I ask for an opinion, simply don't respond. Problem solved.
