Coach's Corner (www.myccsa.com) is one of the largest monthly auctions of sports autographs, trading cards and memorabilia. They sell non-sports items as well.

  • What's your experience with them?
  • What do you think of their material?
  • If you've sold through Coach's Corner, how happy were you
  • Do you have autographs from Coach's Corner you'd like opinions on?

Let's talk about it!

They are a joke and they take advantage of the less informed colectors. They should not be allowed to be in business and I am upset that SCD had their auctions listed for so long as they had. SCD has to have known how shady Coaches Corner is. Just goes to show you that there are not too many that you can trust when it comes to the ol' mighty dollar. Collectors who buy from them are also not too bright as they have to know that there is no way that you will get a single signed Babe Ruth ball for less than 5K unless there is a reason. My only advice to anyone who buys from them is stay away or you will regret it because a colection of fakes is worth nothing in the end!!

Here's an album of lots sold at Coach's Corner in January 2010, all authenticated by Christopher Morales. We've had it online for a year, but it needed to come to the front again.

Steve, neat slideshow and it's good to bring them back out in the forefont.   What is puzzeling to me and I know, Rez, Epperson, BL, Brandon (and dare I say Mr. BIll) read these forums and I can't understand how a place like CC just gets away with it.

although I find this part of their T&C's "entertaining; "...ALSO, COACH'S CORNER RESERVES THE RIGHT AT THEIR DISCRETION TO SEND AN ITEM CONSIGNED TO CCSA OUT FOR PROFESSIONAL INDEPENDENT AUTHENTICATION AT THE COST OF THE CONSIGNOR"   only to be topped by;

Returns  "There will be NO returns on graded cards or Authenticated items. Ask questions regarding the items and look at close up scans before you bid! Any disputes on these must be taken up with graders or authenticators, not Coach's Corner. "

and remember CC's motto We will get you the real market value of your items

What strikes me as odd is that federal agents are  investigating allegations of shill bidding by Mastro, the company and former executives, including Allen and founder Bill Mastro even though Mastro is gone but CC is still here.

So what's the answer there heavyweights?

Thanks for the slide show here and good call on that removal that is what a mediator/editor of the website/blog is supposed to do. Just appreciate it that you contacted me, after doing so.
Always watch their auctions...they get some off the wall items every now and then. I search for JSA certified or PSA/DNA certified and see if there are any signatures I am interested in. I wouldn't touch the other signed items if they were giving them away. On the PSA/JSA stuff...you absolutely need to do your homework. If I can see a number I reference that number on the associated web site. It's the best I can do with their stuff.
Not to exasterbate the discussion with Morales/JSA but  I am hearing JSA has been getting real sloppy in certain areas and a number of items in NASCAR are coming up sour as an example.  Don't know what's going on but JSA may bear some watching.
"Exasterbate"...Can't think of a more appropriate word for a Morales/JSA discussion.
lol, I coulda used exacerbate but felt the play on words was more appropriate in this particular circumstance....   Glad you concur oh guru of the editorial world   ;-)

Hey Travis here u go - a one of a kind Joe with a "stash" and it's only at $55.00

although this pic of 3x SB champion has some possibilities it's tough to bid sight unseen on the 9 others... especially where the description reads in part, "TEN color 8x10's, each of which comes hand signed by the 3 time Super Bowl Champion QB and Patriots HOF bound player! Each photo is signed exquisitely, with one even signed by Brady and ..."  thus I muse on who signed the other 9.

Up until a year ago, I would bombard CC with information regarding their forged NASCAR items. I mean bombard as it sounds. I sent HUNDREDS of emails...Not one was ever answered even though I offered to go over the items with them one ata time to inform them how I reached my opionions.

In a way, CC has protected itself by putting the burdon of proof on the "experts". However, I would be happy to bet the farm that CC has NEVER removed an item that has been disputed by anyone.  I have always wondered what kind of kick-backs Morales and comapny receive from CC. It's obvious to all that Morales and STAT are pretty much the "official" CC authenticators.

It is quite stunning that they have been enabled to flood collections with these forgeries.  I do wonder what happens when someone buys an item with a Morales COA, has it BLINDLY checked by PSA, JSA, GAI, and/ or ( in the case of living signers ) the supposed signer too and it fails all the above. If such an item and findings were presented to Morales, what would happen?

He would find some GA Nascar items camouflage them then have them (GA)  authenticated  and when they reject them out of hand as coming from Morales publish the fopar in order to give him some sort of "credibilility".  Opps, that was JSA!

I've come to the conlcusion that many who buy on CC (some know where the legit ones are buried throughout) are simply bargain hunters and couldn't afford a real one.  Thus they hope they might have scored a real bargain and unfortunately - "quite stunning that they have been enabled to flood collections with these forgeries"  this is going to be the outcome.

Whenever I have questioned one's authenticity it goes unanswered but ask a bidding question and you get a real fast response.
