Congrats to the Kansas City Chiefs 2019 Super Bowl Champions!

As a longtime suffering Kansas City football fan, it gives me great pleasure to congratulate Head Coach Andy Reid on his first Super Bowl Title and to the Kansas City metro area on our first Super Bowl Championship in 50 years!

Down 20 to 10 with about 7 minutes to play, it looked very bleak, but then Mahomes suddenly became Mahomes again with the help of a talented supporting cast.

I believe Mahomes became the first player ever to win an NFL MVP, a Super Bowl, and a Super Bowl MVP in his first three years as a player.  And really...this is basically his second year.  I believe he only played in one game his first year.

If you’re a 49ers fan, congrats on a great season.  I know it hurts when you’re so close, but then it somehow slips away.  But you’ve got a great future ahead.

As my mother liked to say, “He was a very nattily-dressed man.”  I believe they had him mic-ed up in Super Bowl IV against Minnesota.  Listening to him is pretty fun.  He was a man who exuded confidence, and I’m sure his players fed off that too.

Boy, that was a very different time.  I don’t think there are any football coaches today who wear a suit and tie.  Basketball coaches yes, but football coaches no.  I always remember Tom Landry too in his suit and tie and his signature hat too in the 70s.  Those were fun times to watch football.  Of course, it’s still fun to this day.  A lot of things of course have changed.  I bet no one back then could imagine the possibility of a $40 million or more per year quarterback!
