I was hoping to get some input on this autographed picture. I'm a bit skeptical, but don't want to fork out lots of money to have it Authenticated if it's garbage. It was supposed to be an anniversary gift for my wife, but if it's junk, I'll have to think of something else. If other images are needed, I can scan more images.

Thank you all!

Not even a vague resemblance to David Bowie's signature at the time. Forgery based on a bad forgery based on the wrong type/year/style of Bowie...so many reveals that I blush ;)

Also appears a cheap speckly computer print, not a lab photo.

If you need a true quality holiday/gift Bowie, I have an awesome one available - vintage, extremely rare. Will pass anyone's exam anywhere, guaranteed. Signed on Cranes rag stationary it is huge- 4 inches across - a supersignature. Mint and with 19080 Edward Bell flat as shown.

PS - Much more details (what, where (Booth, NYC), when (after September 23 and before Dec. 31st, 1980) and better scans etc. in the Buy Sell Trade group - I have it now at $420. Please compare to closed auctions.

Thanks for the info Eric. I was trying to get something Labyrinth related, since it was a big connection between the two of us when we first met.

If anyone else wants to chime in, the feedback would be appreciated. I'm arguing with the seller now LOL

I don't think I have ever seen such a signed photo - not that I recall. Always forgeries because it was popular. They must be out there but I've not seen one.

What are you arguing about with the seller if I may ask? Did you already purchase that? It is simply not genuine and this can be easily proven. That is an incorrect variant of a 1980 signature and contains elements that would not be seen on a Labyrinth image. It also ends with a poor copy of the paraph from the 90's.

No argument. I can not imagine a competent dealer not knowing this is a bad item. Run.

I had purchased it, yes ,but I've used Paypal, and it hasn't been too long since I did. The seller said:

"You would be the very first to get a fake autographed photo from me. I have had many with second opinions and have been fine. If it is indeed a fake I would just ask that the person that examined it and send it to me a fake is willing to sign a piece of paper saying so so they can be contacted. And then I'll gladly return your money. The problem is there are so many competing people on eBay that some of them actually post stuff on the web for others being fake. So I would definitely be weary of that. I've even had people contacting me trying to get me to stop selling them because I'm direct competition for them. All my stuff comes out of Canada from their version of Hollywood. So I just ask that the person that examined and said it was fake is willing to testify to it as I will make a claim against them. Thanks!"

Canada's version of Hollywood LOL...I told them I would send it back, but I will file a claim and would NOT be paying for a blatantly fake item.

Good for you. Who cares what nonsense this seller utters - there is a return policy he put in place and you have no bar to meet. That Bowie is as bad as the OTHER signed photo of Bowie from oh...the same film...that he sold for a fraction of what it would be worth on November 3rd. So many Buy it Now's accepted so low and on so many cast signed photos from Walking Dead, The Outsiders, The Big Bang Theory, Breaking Bad, Soprano's, Star Wars...wonder why? Maybe they are all good ;) And maybe not. But, that is simply not Bowie's handwriting and if he claims to know that signature, he is not being...straight. I'd not pay shipping either way as well. Play hard - he tried to take your money.

His most recent feedback - "Item damaged due to poor packaging, seller is rude, all buyers beware! AVOID!"

Now, that was left for a Sons of Anarchy Cast Signed Photo, 8x12, signed by Charlie Hunnam, Kim Coates, Ryan Hurst, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Theo Rossi, Dayton Callie, Mark Boone Jr, Tommy Flanagan, Ron Perlman, Johnny Lewis, William Lucking, David Labrava, and Taylor Sheridan...

and this seller, he accepted $150 Make an Offer with free shipping...does that seem right? Does it seem oh...sane? I suspect this recent feedback is...incomplete.

Oh yes. Genuine David Bowie 1986, 1987 and 1989. And on the right - something else, entirely. This image ends the "debate" for me (what debate - I think everyone knows the story here), and yet...one could show so much more...

Hi Avatar1999,

Wondering how your return is going?

Yes this is a blatant fake. As in really bad. If the seller is even partially familiar with Bowie he will know this
