Hello everyone, does anyone have an opinion of the attached David Bowie signature which is dated 1993? Many thanks John

Hello, feedback means little to me. I tried to see some of the thirteen Bowie's he has sold in the last year or so, but I can't see even the recent ones for some reason (when did you buy yours?) Was it off eBay? No auctions come up at all.

I find his pricing suggestive of a problem. A 1976 SP for 194 GBP? Love to see it. Others close for 100 GBP? How many David Jones sigs? The Man Who Fell to Earth SP? What is his return policy? I wonder if this is another seller I am aware of, who should be avoided, in disguise - seems the same patter and pattern.

My 2 cents.. If this is a fake then it's a damn good one. I dont like the B tho; there dont seem to be too many that have the top of the B start so far to the left of the vertical. I found some on Andy's site but they tend to me more from around '95. There seems to be a lot more ink in the B than anywhere else. I wonder how much of that is down to pen pressure, speed, or the pen running low on ink.. There's not enough, IMO, to declare it a fake but as Eric points out, having sold 13 Bowie's in a year is very suspect!

Re the previous sales, a few at 100 GBP 102 GBP and a 1976 SP at 194 GBP makes me VERY wary.

Looks good!

I stand by my original evaluation - its genuine IMO. And at that price, I wish I had seen it first.

Hi Mark :)

I hope you are doing well. I wish I had seen the 1976 SP for 14 GBP more! Whether I'd buy it I don't know. Did you see any of sellers previous auctions? I can't.

Hi Eric (hope you're well too)  - yes saw his David Jones contract and Elephant Man when they were available but didn't have a go at this one because I was away. He does start his auctions very low for some reason? Based in the UK.

Hey :)

When I see such low prices for earlier material like the 1976 SP and higher prices for later 90's stuff I get a little nervous. As Andy says at davidbowieautograph.com, such things are few and far between. However, it does happen.

Hello Eric/Everyone, been to post office and collected the signed item. COA attached for what it’s worth. My gut feeling now is that I might just have got myself a bargain here. Of course we can never be sure. As some of you guys have said, there are bargains out there from time to time. Hope the COA helps. Thank you John

Hi, yes, Andy has great eyes (and a great blog), as does Mark. I also contribute exemplars and forgeries to that site. We don't all always agree which I think is a strength. Those prices around 100 GBP and the 1976 SP (very rare) @ 194 GBP concern me, and I would have to see this LP in hand to say any more of value. I personally take those prices as a potential red flag - a 1976 SP...1980 SP's sell for $700-$900 easily. 1976?...

Please disregard my deleted post. The only correct part was that I am under too much stress.
