I'm looking to add another Derek Jeter autograph to my collection and I came across this signed Sports Illustrated from 2008 commemorating the old Yankee Stadium. I know there a several members on here who are aces with Jeter autographs so if it's not too much to ask, I'd appreciate some good knowledge before I make a decision on whether or not to purchase this item. Thanks for the help!

Appreciate the input fellas. In my opinion, and I'm obviously not a Jeter expert, the signature on the Sports Illustrated in question looks to be identical to the Jeter signed photo with JSA certification that Jason D added to this discussion. I know that nobody is perfect but I thought that James Spence was the Godfather of third party autograph authentication? If you guys all agree that the Sports Illustrated is not-authentic, do you all agree that the photo Jason D added is also a forgery? If that's the case, should I not purchase a Jeter autograph unless it comes direct from Steiner?
No question...all authenticators are not perfect...some do slip through...and this style is one of them...when they came out at the time they actually fooled me and I had to take back one I sold that PSA failed...now its in my closet rotting away...although the ball I had was slightly nicer signed then these it was no good either way...unfortunatley some of these did pass...but there 100 % garbage...mostly on photos....
The Sports Illustrated indeed is identical to the JSA certified one because they were forged by the same hand. JSA slipped up on these and certed them. How many? Who knows. GA has certified tons of Jeter crap, I wouldn't trust them to authenticate a turd.
There are tons of authentic Jeters out there, as well as forgeries, you just have to be careful and run it by guys on here. Steiner ones will be ridiculously expensive. As with any autograph hunt, it's all about the SIGNATURE. The stickers/paperwork that comes with it should be looked at last.
