All I know we have talked extensively in the past about Don Henley signatures. The signatures seems to vary some from other book signature examples. I have compared it to the good/questionable examples listed on this site and feel the signature is good. Has anyone else seen this style in the book? This is also the 1st one I have seen signed on this page. Thoughts?

Seems very unusual with that slant to the right.

I think that Ian takes a very sensible and level-headed approach to Henley/ Eagles opinions.  So no disrespect intended but I'd actually call this perfectly fine.  The slant is a little odd but given where this signature is on the page, I'm not bothered by it.  And the signature itself falls comfortably within what I'd call acceptable variation.  That D in Don is a correct version (and there are a few) of how he signed.  There's a Hotel California test pressing on RR Auction right now (can't remember if its the current auction or the preview for the next auction) with the same cursive D.  And just practically speaking, why forge a signature on a book?  If you're considering a purchase and want to make sure, I'd ask Roger for an opinion.  For $15, it worth it.

Thanks Christopher in talking with the owner he said he witnessed the signing in Boston when he purchased the book. The book comes along with the original purchase receipt. I took a chance on it as the owner was only asking 25.00 as I don't think he knew what he had.
Here are the two examples I compared against

No intention whatsoever of opening a can of worms here but there are those who believe Henley never, ever finished the last upstroke to complete the letter y - that it always trailed off every time. The two examples you posted illustrate precisely that he did both. The test pressing on RR right now is yet another example. That the seller claims to have witnessed this seems reasonable to me too. And for $25 you did well I think. Single signature Henley items don’t command premium prices right now but I think there will be a time in the future when they will. He’s an artist that one might be wise to stock up on while it’s very affordable. I think of Gilmour similarly, though he’s not inexpensive now.
I think your book comment was a valid one. I need to spend more time comparing the book signatures.

No diss taken, just pointing out something strange, seemed like an extra sharp slant that's all. I never get upset either way if anybody disagrees, after all they are just opinions. For 25 bucks its not that much of a gamble.

Appreciate your opinion on this one.
Thanks Ian - as mentioned none intended.
I think this is genuine

Since its still being talked about, theres quite a few of these books out there (I have one, just don't feel like digging half of my closet out to get to it) and reasonably priced so forgers aren't going to go out of their way to pass one off.Though he is not always the nicest guy in person, Henley has actually signed quite a few autographs so I would go with Gilmour. Henleys signed lithos and cds don't even move that well. The Eagles are coming around this summer so I'm getting my Philly tickets, cant wait! Just got them for Jeff Lynnes ELO so its gonna be a good concert season!
