Don Mattingly cancelled check from 1984

My fav ballplayer of all time, Donnie Baseball.. stumbled across this on ebay. Pretty cool and unique item but what do you guys think?

I love checks because they are good way to almost guarantee the signature is genuine.  I would call it a scarce item but not of course unique since I am sure he was paid more than once.  Still a nice piece of history being it is a direct connection to his Yankee career.
