Just wondering about a whether signed drum heads are actually decent for signatures as far a preservation.  Are there any known problems with fading or deterioration that make them less that desirable?  I see a lot of them on ebay, but I assumed that's because they're somewhat cheap and safe to have on hand as a "generic" item to get signed.  Normally I don't pay much attention to them since they seem kind of bland, but there's one in particular I have my eye on.

I talked with an employee in a music store before I got a drumhead signed. He told me people have been getting those signed for years, he never heard of a problem. Though he said blue Sharpie is better than black. I got The Mavericks to sign one, framed it with a photo for visual appeal. To display, use a shadow box frame, Michael's has 'em reasonable with a coupon. Change out the glass to UV if the room has sun.

Thanks!  This one is signed in black but still looks pretty good.  I just wasn't sure about fading issues (i.e. like Sharpie on baseballs, white panel footballs, etc).
