Quick Opinion is not a good advert for PSA / DNA. I've had items fail quick opinion yet when sent for a full opinion pass no problem.

PSA QO in my eyes is an extremely valuable service. They dont get it right all the time, but they do the vast majority of the time. They also will fail items when they arent sure, and i think most can appreciate the better sorry than safe approach on alot of these items.

But that being said, this service isnt mostly aimed at the experienced collectors out their. PSA knows that the experienced guys will probably already know if the item is real, even more than they do. And it is from these experienced members that PSA QO errors are often exposed, b/c they have more knowledge. But for the average collector, or the inexperienced collector who just wants to buy a few autographs, it can be an invaluable tool. Without this service and others like it (Epperson), their would be a ton more forgeries sold on ebay. Although ebay really does need to work out some system that works in conjunction with the PSA system in certain cases.

And yes, they pass tons and tons of items. In fact, i probably have sent in 30 to 40 submissions over the last few years, and id say maybe 5 of those failed. I research the items as much as i can and feel confident on them before sending it in to PSA, but i like having the extra opinion. They have no problem really giving the thumbs up of they believe the item is good. But if they believe it to be questionable (and possibly good), they more than likely will turn it down. And even though that may shut down some good items, i would appreciate their approach if i knew nothing about autographs and wanted to start a collection.
